Spend the extra and upgrade.Posted Aug 3, 2014
One wing of rooms is really a motel and the door between rooms does nothing to cut the sound. I upgraded and spent the extra $40 for a larger, quieter, better quality room. Santa Fe is an expensive city to visit so be prepared for a little sticker shock. Location was good.

Great hotel close to everythingPosted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: The personnel super friendly and helpful, clean rooms, liked to have solid breakfast buffet included, very welcoming to families with children
Cons: Maybe some back ground music in the morning for breakfast and afternoon happy hour
Location: Close to the plaza in Santa Fe, all galleries, shops great restaurants in walking distance, lots of sightseeing possible, again, in walking distance
Loved the friendly welcoming atmosphere, lobby feels like a big family living room, easy to make friends especially during free afternoon sherry and tea time

Excellent except for some street noisePosted Jul 1, 2014
Check in went well. Parking the first night was easy. The room was beautiful and had lots of nice amenities. A refrigerator, robes, excellent bedding, and a nice selection of toiletries. Street noise was a small problem -- mostly motorcycles, but they did not come by very often. The location is great. It is a short walk to all of the interesting places such as the plaza, O'Keefe museum, St Francis Cathedral, many restaurants, etc. Breakfast and afternoon tea/sherry were very good too.

Close to the plaza but not in the thick of thingsPosted Jun 30, 2014
Cons: The parking was a little cramped but it was included and once we parked, we could walk anywhere downtown.
Location: A short walk from the plaza, restaurants and museums.
The hotel was a reasonable price for a family of four with an excellent breakfast each morning that was included. The rooms were quiet and well taken care off. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the kids loved the Tea and cookie hour (they also had Sherry for the adults) every afternoon. The pool was small but private and a nice way to relax after a day of sight seeing. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel Stay In Sante FEPosted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Everything. Especially the location. Walk everywhere!
Cons: The pool had some orange cones around an area the whole time we were there. We didn't care for that. An elevator would be helpful.
Location: Everything...the Plaza and the Indian sellers & any restaurant you could want...walking distance
We always stay at The Inn Of The Governors! We love the location, the staff and the quaintness of the place. It is the only place we will ever stay in SF! And have recommended it to several people.

mother/daughter tripPosted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: We liked most of all the location. It was within walking distance from everything downtown.
Cons: The hotel could use updating. The rooms are small, but adequate.
Location: There were many shops, museums, and restaurants within walking distance.
My daughter and I went to Santa Fe together for our first trip alone. We enjoyed the area very much. It had lots of shopping with authentic items everywhere. The restaurants were many and also very good. We especially liked The Shed's Cold Raspberry soup! We also rented a car for one day and drove to Bandelier National Monument/Park and hiked and saw the Pueblos. I loved all the pottery available too. The best part of the Inn of The Governors was it's location. We were able to walk EVERYWHERE.

Exceptional staffPosted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: The staff went out of its way to be helpful and provided great service.
Location: There is no shortage of things to do in Santa Fe or traveling north from there especially.
The morning breakfast is far from the standard hotel breakfast buffet, and the afternoon tea/sherry provides a chance to relax after a long day before dinner. The common area amenities are excellent. The hotel is somewhat squeezed into its space, but the location more than makes up for that.
