“OK Basic Motel”

This is a good basic motel, one of the least expensive I could find. They apparently have renovated the interior, but the changes are cosmetic only. The plumbing is still old and the fixtures are cheap. They are short on amenities and the "breakfast" is pathetic. But they have a microwave in the lobby and a refrigerator in the room, so I could shop for my own breakfast items. But the internet is free and works pretty well, the cable TV service works, the bed is reasonably comfortable and the shower works reasonably well. It's a long way from the tourist attractions, but an acceptable alternative to the expensive downtown accommodations.

Hotel room not cleaned every day during our stay. Pool not opened. Continental breakfast very limited - not even dry cereal offered. Seating area for breakfast almost non-existant. Location at outskirts of Santa Fe - about as far as you can get from historic down town area. Highway/commercial setting.

The charge for the hotel room was more than double for what I would expect to pay for such accommodations. It's OK if you just need a place to sleep.

“You get what you pay for”

The title says it all. I asked for a cheap place to stay and I got it. My room was at the absolute end of the hall on the second floor. The only access I was informed of was via a long stairwell of minimum legal width. I'm sure there is an elevator somewhere or there would not have been a building/business permit issued. Parking was at a premium and I had a tight space even for my little Toyota Pickup. The office chair had a broken wheel that had been put back under the chair with the broken pieces no where to be found. The table lamp was broken and fell over when I tried to adjust it. My main complaint was the smoke detector chirped when ever the heater was running. I eventually turned the heater off as I needed the sleep more than I needed the heat. I took the broken wheel to the counter on my way out and let them know about the rest. With all of this, I still rated the hotel as average due to the room being clean and exactly what I paid for. I think I just drew a bad room.

Poor conmunications all around, the night clerk had no clue. The morning cont breakfast was a joke, no cereral, milk, juice, bagles, the sweet rolls were at least two days old, nice and hard.

Pool was closed due to contamination. outside stairs were unusable due to lack of maintainability. Cheap hotel, although recently remodeled (rooms only). Noisy--could hear bathroom and shower, TV from adjoining rooms. I knew I was in trouble when I noticed parking lots of other hotels in the area full and there was only one other car in this parking lot when I registered.

“Clean, Comfortable, Reasonably Priced”

Quite satisfactory; bed was comfortable, room was quiet and generously sized. Pleasant surrounding, recently remodeled. Good staff was patient with late departures. Next to bus stop, very convenient transportation dropped us off two block from the Plaza. We'll stay there next time we're in Santa Fe.
