Not so muchPosted Jul 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were extremely disappointed with the service from the concierge and restaurant. We actually had to go to another Hotel in downtown Santa Fe to get walking maps and information. Staying at a historic hotel should not include poor linens and old carpet. I was glad that we did not plan on spending a lot of time at the hotel.

Great, but needs a little carePosted Jul 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel and grounds are wonderful. The staff is excellent. The rooms need a little TLC. My room thermostat was behind a large TV cabinet, so I couldn't adjust the temp. Fan/heater in bath did not work. Room was large, comfortable and clean. I'd go back.

I loved this hotel and will go backPosted Jul 14, 2013
Pros: The incredible views, the sense of history, the feeling of being away from it all, the comfortable room with the beautiful fireplace, and the horses.
Cons: I did wish there were more vegetarian/vegan choices in the restaurant. If you're a meat-eater you'll love it.
Location: The lodge is on a peaceful mountainside five minutes from downtown Santa Fe. You can hike on the mountain or spend the day shopping for turquoise.
I'm a single woman who was there for a week. It had everything I wanted. You can spend the day by the pool or visiting the galleries, museums, and shops in Santa Fe, and then go for a sunset horseback ride. The hiking trails are amazing and I can't say enough about the people. Everybody is friendly and as helpful as they can be. It's four-star luxury in the wilderness. What more could a city girl need?

Dont bother!Posted Jun 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
From the outside it looked pretty good. However, once you went inside your room it was like you went back in time to the 1970's. the furnishings were old and cheap. There were holes and stains in the carpet and for what we paid per night it was more like a motel 8... There were 4 of us and we only got one tiny bottle of shampoo and one bar of soap... For 0ver two nights of stay.. The food and service at the restaurant were horrendous and really pricey!

Pros: NICE PEACEFUL ATMOSPHERE, NICE LOUNGE AREAS AROUND THE POOL, STAFF AT POOL VERY GRACIOUS AND PLEASANT.
Cons: RESTRAUNT STAFF NOT VERY IMPRESSED WITH, AND IT WAS VERY WARM INSIDE AS WELL.
OVERALL WE HAD A GREAT WEEKEND AND ENJOYED THE AREA AND WHAT IT HAS TO OFFER.

Bad Restaurant ExperiencePosted May 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
DO NOT eat in the restaurant at the property. Although the food is delicious and creative, the service was the worst we have ever experienced in 25 years. It took 25 minutes to receive a mixed drink, which was watered down and old, plus a bottle of wine. Then we had to beg to get our dinner, which was another hour, along with bread, butter and silverware. The waitress was inexperienced and apologized profusely, but did not improve. This visit occurred on May 25, 2013 and the management was not overly concerned when we complained.

I wouldn't recommend this place.Posted May 29, 2013
Pros: The grounds are beautiful, being a resident of New Mexico I can appreciate the area.
Cons: You should get what you pay for, at this place you do not. Accommodations should be made with unhappy customers.
Location: Santa Fe is full of stuff to do. Breweries, Santa Fe plaza, Art Galleries, etc....
My wife and I were going to spend our first anniversary away and relax for the better part of the weekend. Unfortunately, we were sadly let down at The Bishop's Lodge. The grounds were exceptional, however, the room (delapitated and dirty) was far for deserving of the price. The staff was nice, but there were a few new seasonal who really did not have a clue. The spa was exceedingly expensive for services rendered. The food was ok at best and expensive like everything else within the resort. I have no problem paying for quality, unfortunately what my wife and I paid for the weekend wa far from satisfactory. If I am to pay close to $1000 for a weekend at a spa and resort, I fully expect to be satisfied. At this place, we were not and do not plan on returning.

Upkeep has been neglected!Posted May 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
Lovely historic site, but not a good dollar value given the general disrepair of the grounds and lack of updating to the rooms.
