Excellent place. Value for your money.

Pros: Everything from the rustic feel, to the friendly innkeeper who remembers your name.
Cons: Nothing at all.
Location: It is the right in the middle of downtown. Everything important to see and good to eat is a minute's walk from here.
It was a great place to stay. Peaceful, mystical and a great fireplace to go, right downtown. Truly memorable experience.

Bed and Breakfast charm feel, close to everything

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: I liked it's character, the proximity to downtown, the fireplaces and the friendliness of the staff.
Cons: It could use a little updating in the bathrooms and just a little more attention paid to cleaning minor things like light fixtures and shower curtains
Location: Location, very close to downtown, galleries and shopping. The museums and restaurants were within walking distance.
We stayed at the Inn at Vanessie for 5 days. For us it was a beautiful time to go as the temperatures were falling and we had some nice autumn weather. The room was large and comfortable and had a fireplace which we used every night. We enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast each morning ,which was very good,in the sunny breakfast room of the restaurant. The manager, Maryanne was friendly and informative about the activities available in the area and was always willing to accommodate any request. As a matter of fact the whole staff was wonderful and we enjoyed our stay. We also enjoyed some really good restaurants while we were there and one of the best was just steps away from our hotel door.

A great find at a reasonable cost.

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Perhaps a stepstool for short people like me (5'2") to get into the bed would be a great thing. I had difficulty climbing into bed.
Location: This hotel is in the heart of Santa Fe. The historical plaza, great restaurants, shopping and entertainment was within walking distance.
Upon checkin we were greated by the innkeeper personally. She gave us a tour of the facility and personally escorted us to our room. Though I booked this as a "hotel" it seemed more like a B&B. The room was unique from every other room. It was a joy to enter. The Santa Fe decor was immediately inviting with a fireplace, wood floor and four-poster bed. What a great place to spend a few days. Attention was paid to every detail. The room was supplied with a fridge, microwave, wine glasses, books, robes and slippers. And if anything else was needed, the innkeeper was there to provide it. I love this hotel/B&B!

Good location & great piano bar.

Pros: The location and lounge.
Cons: Updated bathrooms.
Location: Within a 5 min walk of downtown and many restaurants, stores and galleries. Close walk to rail yard district, but a little bit of a walk to Canyon Rd.
We stayed at Vanessie for 3 nights and it was a pleasant experience. Upon checkin there were two women that were extremely helpful and provided directions to some favourite local spots. The location was just a few minutes walk to the downtown area. The room was large with a king sized 4 poster bed, a fireplace, armoire and some leather chairs. It was a bright room with 4 windows on three of the walls. The bathroom was okay and could use a little updating, but it was clean. Breakfast was included and they offered omelets and scrambled eggs with diiferent breads, fruit, cereals and yogurt. Enough choice to start the day. What we enjoyed the most was the lounge/bar connected to the restaurant. They had live music each night and it was great. The only negative was the attitude of the bartender that was on Thursday evening. Definitely needs to gain some people skills.

No staff awaiting our arrival. In adequate info to find room and code to enter. Long wait at dining room door before even being recognized. Very slow service. Handicap parking very inconvenient to get to. Lighting in the bathroom not sufficient for a man to shave. No Mira in bedroom only in bathroom. Overall not satisfactory stay.I have traveled all over the world and luxurious and non-luxurious hotels. This boutique hotel has potential but not enough attention to details and ordinary service.
