nice to be in walking distance to downtown.

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: had a great atmosphere and was so easy to get to and to walk to so many places.
Cons: just a little updating to the rooms. leak from heat/ac when it rained and broken blind in bathroom window. but had lots of character
Location: fantastic. so many places that you could walk to and a great place to have our vehicle good restaurants, art galleries, and the famed Plaza
very welcoming. good breakfast in the mornings. great Piano Bar and food in the restaurant very convenient location to walk to museums, art galleries, and restaurants. as well as the Santa Fe Plaza, so no concerns to find parking. staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The Inn at Vanessie was a disappointment.

Posted May 11, 2015
Location was good, but hotel is quite tired. It needs maintenance and things like ragged towels are not to the standard we were led to expect. Staff were fine and the bar/restaurant was Also OK. Would hesitate to recommend it to anyone, as there seemed to be much better choices in Santa Fe.

Wonderful stay in Santa Fe

Posted May 6, 2015
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable, clean and local feel to the room, nice restaurant and piano bar on the premises, parking included.
Location: You are walking distance to the plaza and the various historical sites, galleries and restaurants in this area.
My wife and I have been to Santa Fe many times, usually visiting family over Christmas, but this time we were passing through for an evening and stayed at the Vanessie after a 12 hour drive. We arrived to a most helpful manager who checked us in after their normal hours, and put us in a wonderful room. A suite, really, with a small bed and fireplace in the front room and a queen in the bedroom. It was spacious (for an older Santa Fe building), comfortable and had both indoor and outdoor patios. Since we were a bit spent from the drive we ate at the Vanessie's restaurant, which was excellent, both the service and the food, and finished off with a glass of wine in the piano bar to close the place (just after 10 pm, this being Santa Fe, after all). All in all a really memorable stay, however brief it was. As others have commented, while there were two fireplaces in our suite, they are no longer meant for actual use but still set a nice tone and provide a Santa Fe feel to the room. Also, a wall of our room backed to San Francisco St., so while there was some road noise early in the evening, it was quiet overnight as Santa Fe is a pretty sleepy place, so that was not a detraction for us. For those looking at a map and hoping for a place near the plaza, it's an easy 4 block walk though it may look longer, so don't let that put you off. It's worth the short walk. We will stay here again and recommend it to others.

Amazing hotel with lots of character.

Posted May 5, 2015
Cons: Internet - it was explained that we would need to use the front of our room to get online, but even so it cut out all the time.
I would recommend this hotel extremely highly in every regard except for internet access as it was not always available. The location was excellent, the restaurant was great, breakfasts were very nice and the room was spacious and luxurious.

Enjoyable

Pros: Same as above
Cons: Nothing really
Location: As I said, near the Plaza for shopping and near lots of really good restaurants
Was that the television was bigger and in a spot where you can move it around. In the bed with a little soft It was absolutely close to restaurants in the plaza and it was a very beautiful room with two balconies in from stores and lots of windows It was like renting a home away from home The restaurant was also very good and the entertainment with the piano in the singers were great

It's ok in Santa Fe

Posted Apr 29, 2015
Location: Within walking distance of the downtown area. A little far to walk to Canyon road
The hotel was ok. Nothing exceptional. Did not realize it was more motel and our door to the outside was next to the office and a few steps facing the parking lot. You could tell when someone walked by. It had a large room with a king bed, which the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The restaurant and bar was very nice.

Room was a little worn at edges. It was fine but not as a 4 star hotel
