Great value hotel within easy reach of Downtown

Posted May 27, 2015
Very comfortable, large room with really friendly staff, a laundry room, a gym and a pool. It is walkable to downtown, but it's a bit of a trek - however the shuttle bus was very flexible and made it very easy to get around. I'd stay there again.

Nice hotel ... bad night's sleep

Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: Nice, clean, updated rooms
Cons: Noise ... I did not get a good night's sleep.
Location: It is not within walking distance of any Santa Fe attractions, but the free shuttle which runs hourly gets you where you want to be conveniently.
Overall, the hotel is very nice, clean, updated, and the shuttle into the heart of Santa Fe is a plus. But if you want to go to sleep early or sleep in late, you will be disappointed. The doors to other rooms were slamming loudly every few minutes late into the evening and from 6:30-8:30 AM ... which kept me awake when I was trying to sleep. Also, voices from the halls carried right into my room.

Rooms weren't as clean as I would prefer. They weren't gross dirty, but could be better. Rooms aren't very insulated. Yes, it's a hotel and you'll hear things, but this one seemed particularly noisy from adjoining rooms and the hallway. Staff was pleasant but it is a bit of a turn-off when you're standing at the desk and aren't acknowledged with "I'll be right with you."

Not great

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: Not much

Location: Location is ok with the shuttle bus to plaza.
This hotel needs updating. The restaurant is only open when it wants to be open.

Pros: Its cleanliness, and spaciousness.
Cons: Provide small refrigerator.
Location: Easy and quick to downtown Santa Fe and area restaurants.
It is a charming hotel with excellent decor in the rooms as well as the lobby. The rooms are very clean, and very spacious. We were surprised to not find a small refrigerator. A lot of people, like us, are traveling long distances and have some food items that need to be kept cold. I will definitely stay in this hotel again in the future, but will hope to find a small fridge there.

Beautiful Location

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: I loved the architecture. The lodge was built to reflect the local culture and style. Walking on the grounds was very peaceful.
Cons: The only thing we were disapointed with, was that the hot tub jets weren't working. We enjoyed the hot water. A continental breakfast would be nice.
Location: The historic Santa Fe Plaza is nearby, just a few minutes drive. We also made the drive to the Bandalier National Monument. It was fantastic.
We had a lovely time at The Lodge. The grounds were beautiful. The views were spectacular. The staff was very friendly. We thought the furnishings were really nice. It was also easy to find, and close to a lot of the attrractions in Santa Fe.

Needs new mattresses.

Posted May 6, 2015
Pros: Staff was very helpful and friendly
Cons: New MATTRESSES! NEW BEDING. Increase Jets on hot tub and add better workout equipment maybe some free weights they are not that expensive
The outside of the hotel is inviting and appears to be a nice hotel. We were greeted professionally by the staff. The room itself was undesirable. The carpets in the hallway were stained, need to be replaced. Actually smelled in some areas. The first night went to the Mexican Restaurant inside. The service was horrible and they were not even busy. We waited forever for our food. I ordered a salad which was to have shrimp on it. They delivered the completely wrong salad which had Chicken and was not at all the salad I ordered. I sent it back and all they did was take off the chicken (still some on salad) and replace with shrimp. They took care of the salad and did not charge which was great. My main concern is the room itself and outdoor hot tub, and work out facility. The beds had very little coverings on them and you could tell that the sheets and comforter were rather old and worn. We had big spiders in the room. The mattress was horrible and must have been 20 years old! You could feel the springs in your back. We used the Hot Tub or should I say we just stuck our feet in there as it was filthy dirty! There were bugs and stuff floating in the water. The jets did not work properly. The sanitation of the Hot Tub was horrible. The workout room. There was an ecliptical, and 2 treadmills, they worked however the weight machine was broken. They could use some free weights in the room that would help. The staff was friendly and that was the positive
