Good room for the money in Santa Fe

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Price, cleanliness, location.
Clean room with enough space for three adults. Sofa sleeper was suitable for an adult and the bedroom could be closed off for privacy.

Treats Expedia customers as second class citizens

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: I could walk to the plaza downtown (about a 15-minute walk).
Cons: This is not really a resort--it is simply a very large suite-type hotel, with no amenities other than pool and exercise room.
Location: No restaurants or groceries at or near the hotel--you'll have to walk 10-15 minutes or drive to get breakfast.
The room I was given smelled smoky, even though it was supposed to be non-smoking. I can't tolerate smoke odors, so I asked the front desk staff to move me to a different room. The staff member told me there were no other rooms available because I booked through Expedia. I then asked to be accommodated at another hotel. The staff member called two managers and was told that they could not do this because I booked and pre-paid through Expedia. They said I would have to contact Expedia, have them refund my payment, and then find another hotel on my own. This was unacceptable customer service. In the past, on the very rare cases when I've found my hotel room unacceptable, in the interest of good customer relations, the hotel has always found me another room, whether in their hotel or elsewhere, no matter how or where I made the reservation or how I paid. The only thing the hotel offered was to send in housekeeping to spray some deodorizer and open some windows, which did not eliminate the odor. They also offered to run a deionizer, but they said it would need to run an hour and I could not stay in the room (it takes the oxygen out of the air). It was bedtime and I had a long work day the next day, so this was not a viable option. I ended up spending a miserable night and was ill-prepared for a long work day the next day.

We are truly and sincerely sorry that your stay here at Villas De Santa Fe did not meet your expectations. It was very concerning for us to read that your accommodations had a smell of smoke. Our housekeeping team didn’t report any smell of smoke and we also confirmed that the next day with the room attendant. Nevertheless, we’re sorry you encountered this problem in the first place. We assure you that should there have been any availability to transfer you to another room or an upgrade you to a larger suite this would have been arranged for you, however, the resort was experiencing high occupancy rates. The historic area is only 5 blocks from the resort where you would have found several restaurants we’re sure you would have enjoyed. We are, of course; very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment you may have experienced during your stay and should you wish to give you another chance, we would do our best to ensure that you have a great stay. We wish you all the best on your future travels.

Great place!

Posted Aug 4, 2014
We were just looking for a room for the night and came across Villas De Santa Fe. Price was cheaper than some and had what we needed and more. Was so surprised and impressed when we got therethe whole place was very nice, staff was very nice and the room was more like a small condo. We decided this was going to start being our get a way and hide spot. Loved it. 😊

Wish we'd stayed a week!

Posted Jul 15, 2014
We didn't know our room was a small apt with kitchenette and living/dining area. It was large enough to have stayed a week without getting "sick" of each other. Santa Fe offers many things to do so a longer stay would have been nice. Front desk staff(Colin and Ricardo) we're friendly and offered great suggestions for restaurants. The downside? We were above our price point at $160 per night and were tipped over by the added "resort fee" of $11.00 plus at check in. Upside? An easy 8 minute walk to the Plaza.

Sorry just OK

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Roomy.
Cons: Needs to be updated. Needs more staff.
Location: Almost close enough to the Plaza, pretty easy walk.
Felt like the hotel was under staffed. The personnel were fine. We were stranded when we called for their shuttle that had dropped us off to pick us up. They said that they weren't running the shuttle mid day because the shuttle personal were busy performing other tasks. The map that they handed out said that the shuttle ran all day, but when we returned we did see a note on the front desk showing restricted hours. Sorry, they shouldn't passes out the maps out with misinformation. Also on another night I had to wait letting the phone ring for over 5 minutes (seriously) before anyone picked up the call, when I was calling again for the shuttle.

Close to the Plaza.......

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: The location and lobby was nice.........
Cons: Let people know what exactly they are getting for the money and reservation. (The nice view was of cars parked a little above ground level.)
Location: Santa Fe is beautiful....lots to see and do......
Not at all what we expected and thought we booked; we had called to ask for a certain type room and were told it was not available due to this being a timeshare and owners have priority. Receptionists were helpful and tried but didn't have the authority to change the room.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased that you found our team helpful and our location and lobby to be noteworthy, yet we regret not fully being able to meet your expectations. While the resorts positioning may prevent us from being able to offer views to every guest of the resort we are happy to take into consideration any special unit requests when notified ahead of time. Please know that whenever possible our management and front desk team members will do everything within their power to assign your guestroom according to your request but, that we cannot guarantee these requests will be fulfilled at check in due to the occupancy rates of deeded owners owning certain unit types. We hope this has not marred your stay and you will consider us for your future bookings. Your business with us is sincerely appreciated and we wish you the best on all your future travels.

Slice of Heaven

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: The location. the cleanliness, the modern appliances, the stocked kitchen, the staff, the T.V's, and of course the shuttle service.
Location: It's close to shopping and grocery stores. Its close to good restaurants.
Our first stop was the Loretto chapel. I read so much about this place and it was a dream come true to visit this place and eat at this location. We loved the weather and the view. We were impressed by the friendliness and laidback feeling of Santa Fe. We loved all the shops and fine art displays and sculptures.. We plan to visit again, but not to fly . We will drive down on our next visit and stay at the same location.

Comfy in Santa Fe

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Pool, 2 Jacuzzis, shuttle service, friendly staff, very nice room.
Cons: Garden near pool area was poorly tended. More flowers and/or gardens around the property.
Location: Good location but just far enough from the plaza that we always took the shuttle. Plaza has it all...shopping, dining, museums, churches, music.
Clean, quiet, comfortable, affordable. Outstanding service, prompt and friendly. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
