"beautiful place, great location, nice people"
When I arrived there were no rooms of the grade I had reserved, so the staff were quick and gracious in upgrading me. The room was lovely; the staff were great; and the location can't be beat. I would return in a heartbeat. In fact, I'd like to because I didn't get to try the spa facilities on this trip.

"Rustic and Wonderful!"
Wonderful welcome by staff including wine, tea and cookies upon arrival. (4 to 5 P.M.) Room was rustic decor, cozy and warm on a chilly night. Hotel restaurant was wonderful for dinner. The breakfast was a wonderful buffet of freshly cooked selections with background music of Classical Guitar. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. This place is located close to the plaza and within easy walking distance to shopping in Old Town. Highly recommended to everyone.

"Bed and Breakfast charm feel, close to everything"
We stayed at the Inn at Vanessie for 5 days. For us it was a beautiful time to go as the temperatures were falling and we had some nice autumn weather. The room was large and comfortable and had a fireplace which we used every night. We enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast each morning ,which was very good,in the sunny breakfast room of the restaurant. The manager, Maryanne was friendly and informative about the activities available in the area and was always willing to accommodate any request. As a matter of fact the whole staff was wonderful and we enjoyed our stay. We also enjoyed some really good restaurants while we were there and one of the best was just steps away from our hotel door.

"Character, Cozy & Charm"
If u want character, proximity and a great place to rest at a reasonable price, this is the place. It's not a chain hotel and the rooms are all different and spread out in casitas. But that was the charm of it. Not over the top but enough personality to feel like real Santa Fe. I just loved, loved breakfast with local performers strumming in the background and a newspaper to go along with omelet and waffles. Such a peaceful way to start the day. Plus, the real fireplaces made it so cozy at night.

"The Hacienda (boutique hotel-within-Hotel SF)"
NB: This review applies only to the Hacienda hotel-w/in-hotel. Superior service and amenities. In Santa Fe for Dia los Muertos, where days are crisp and clear-- there are insufficient superlatives to lavish on the experience here. The Hacienda is beautiful, like staying in an art gallery. First class top to bottom-- from the butler service to the spa amenities, the generous and enormously capable staff makes the experience here. A shuttle service to take you around SF, and the staff truly have the perfect suggestion for dinner, art galleries, music-- you name it. We were absolutely delighted with our stay here.

Where to stay in Santa Fe

    Santa Fe Hotel Guide

Santa Fe, New Mexico, the oldest capital city in the United States, is an alluring destination with a little something for everyone to enjoy. From hiking the Santa Fe River Park and learning about the past at the Palace of the Governors to attending the Santa Fe Opera and marveling at the St. Francis Cathedral, Santa Fe offers attractions that appeal to nature enthusiasts, history buffs, and art fanatics alike. Hotels

Many of the hotels in Santa Fe are conveniently located in downtown or Cerrillos Road. While these two hotel hot spots are within easy access of each other, they differ in their ambience and appeal. Downtown has a historical vibe with an old Western environment, while Cerrillos Road is a much more modern area with an urban feel. Regardless of where you book one of the Santa Fe hotels, you’ll find a variety of lodging options, from budget-friendly motels to splurge-worthy accommodations.

    Transportation

One of the best ways of getting around is to reserve a Santa Fe rental car in advance. With the exception of downtown, which is walkable, there are a number of roads that run through the city and are easy to navigate. Many of the streets do have sharp turns, so take care when cruising along these roads.

The city also provides the North Central Regional Transit District, which is a free bus service that runs Monday through Friday. The routes service communities in Santa Fe, along with Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, and Taos. The Santa Fe Trails also offers bus service to the area, with routes to Crosstown, Cerrillos Road, Agua Fria, and Rodeo Road, among others.

    Travel Basics

Realize that Santa Fe is a high-altitude destination, which can contribute to a number of health-related problems if travelers are ill prepared to handle it. Focus on staying hydrated, pack plenty of sunscreen, and be especially vigilant if you’re hiking to even higher altitudes. Some visitors may feel experience headaches, or feel nauseated and especially tired when acclimating.

For vacationers who plan to get behind the wheel during their Santa Fe travels, take caution. Drivers in this area are notorious for running red lights, so remain extra focused around intersections. For whatever reason, items failing off of trailers and pick-up trucks are another common occurrence. Remain alert while driving on these roads and maintain a safe distance behind other vehicles.

    Weather

Santa Fe presents four distinct seasons each year. The winters usually experience temperatures around 40 F with the chance of snowfall. When spring rolls in, the climate is dry and offers arguably some of the best temperatures all year round. Come summer, the heat spikes around 90 F, but afternoon thunderstorms help to cool it down during July and August. Autumn brings cooler temperatures and crisp evenings before the winter chill sets in.

Santa Fe is a scenic destination, located at the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, where anytime is a good time to visit. Allow us here at Expedia.com to match you up with cheap flights to Santa Fe, along with car rentals and hotel rooms to suit all your travel preferences.
