"Santa Monica Hotel across the street from beach"
Nice hotel across the street from the beach (Only Shutters is actually on the beach). Loews is a no frills hotel, nothing special about it in any way. There is also nothing bad about it - but definitely not memorable. Location on the other hand is great, very close to the pier and pedestrian zones of Santa Monica. They do play music by the pool which is in the middle of the horseshoe shaped hotel. If you do not want to hear that during the day make sure you get a room facing the outside of the hotel - but the majority do face the pool. Music stopped around 8pm i believe.

"Good hotel, within walking distance to beach"
Great hotel and staff. We used the pool on the third floor and spa and we liked them. Lots of seating. The staff at the restaurant was terrific with our family. The chef on the first night of our stay was INCREDIBLE. Tasted like a 5 star chef. Breakfast buffet was edible which is always a plus and the coffee was good. The AC in the king suite didn't go into the king room just the sitting room which left me hot at night and my kids on the couch cold. That was really the only bummer on our stay.

Good location, decent price, and surprisingly nice for a Days Inn. The room was extremely clean and the bathroom was impressive. I would definitely stay here again.

"The location was great!"
My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights to attend a wedding in LA. The room itself was ok. It was small and a little dingy, but clean. We had one king bed and it was pretty uncomfortable. It creaked every time you moved. The bathroom was nice and clean, but absolutely no counter space. The best part of this hotel is the location. It is about a block from the beach, a block from the 3rd Street Promenade and a 5 to 10 min walk to the pier. This is probably about the cheapest hotel you will find that is this close to everything. My one tip is to park your car and do not take it out again. The traffic is absolutely terrible and just not worth it. Just get Uber or Lyft to take you around Santa Monica. It is much less stressful that way

"Good location but too pricey for what it is. "
Great location in Santa Monica. The hotel is modern and clean but feels more like you are staying in a serviced apartment style property. The rooms are clean but pretty basic. Not much offered in the way of amenities and my mini bar wasn't restocked after the first day or the bins emptied. The gym is ok but tiny and the pool and surrounding areas are just far too small for the size of the property. The hotel doesn't really do the whole bar and food offer well either. The set up around the pool is temporary and painfully slow. It really is simply unacceptable for the money the property charges, you are far better of not even considering it as an option for a poolside drink or snack. Surprisingly also is that the hotel doesn't offer complimentary coffee in the morning. After a walk I went and asked for a black coffee, which was brewed, and was charged - this is one of the few places I have stayed at that doesn't offer this for no charge. The internet is woeful!
