This is an extremely basic property with no air con, you get a fan in place of air con. No fridge or hair dryer or even a bin in the room you have to use the one placed next to the toilet. There is a very busy restaurant downstairs and it seems the rooms are an after thought and the restaurant is the main business. They are no hotel staff only restaurant staff which made it difficult for me to approach when i was having issues with my transfer. I felt embarrassed and awkward having to interrupt them when i could see they were rushed off their feet, taking orders and serving. I never met my hosts and as somone with anxiety and depression it was a lonely experience not warm and welcoming. I didnt get that warm, happy hoilday feeling. Maybe the area just wasnt for me although the beach and view out to sea are beautiful i did not enjoy myself here not one bit and wished the last day away as i was longing to return home. If i had paid 10/20 euro a night i would feel like i had received value for money. Of all my trips this has been the one i enjoyed the least and will not be returning.

Loved this place! Basic rooms exceptional location
Hostel Playa was great. Basic no frills rooms but clean and comfy and in an amazing location right on the beach. The restaurant downstairs was great for both food and drinks. We spent most of our time on the beach and in the restaurant and just went up to the room when we needed things and to shower and sleep. Will definitely come back!

It was fabulous, especially for the price. The beach is unbelievably close, you get a fridge, air conditioning, a balcony with your own table, a drying rack and reasonably priced food. There's a supermarket really close and the staff are super friendly. The are only a few non-consiquential cons: The untouristic location, so there's no more restaurants other than the hotels around and only one shop; there aren't many English visitors and staff but there's no need to worry - most people speak English; the biggest problem is the steep hills (as expected because it's at the bottom of a cliff). We cannot fault the cleanliness. New towels, new sheets, new glasses every morning. Advice though: you can cut through the beach if going to the bus stop, cala figuera or the supermarket. (We made the mistake of not shortcutting with our transfer). Google maps doesn't show these quicker paths going through but just ask the staff which direction places are located. They'll know.

Unbearably Hot!
We stayed here in July on the top floor and it was unbearably hot at night and the hotel did not provide a fan which meant we could not sleep for three nights. It was stinking hot- some nights with a minimum of 27 degrees. Aside from this we thought all other factors of the hotel were great- staff, location and restaurant were great but as we had three terrible nights sleep i could not recommend this place unfortunately.

Great service, right on the beach!
Rooms were basic but clean and sufficient. Was lovely to be able to walk straight downstairs onto the beach and lots of beautiful beaches within 20min drive. The restaurant also had delicious food. Best of all was the service. All staff were very friendly and helpful! Would stay here again

Very nice staff
We only spent one night in Hostal Playa, but we really enjoyed the staff. As our belongings were just stolen, we didn't have anything. We found in the Hostal Playa warming people who did what they could to help us. Thank you very much for it.
