The hotel location was perfect for us and the service and cleanliness of the hotel was very good. Also the complimentary breakfast buffet was more than we expected.

Excellent hotel and amazing valuePosted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: Good service, Good food, Friendly staff, Ideal location and Amazing value.
Cons: Perhaps BBC news channel could be added to the TV available
Location: The Sanctuary where Our Lady appeared in 1917 is 100yds away, with Mass, Confession and the Rosary. The Way of the Cross is easy walking distance.
We booked a four day pilgrimage to Fatima to celebrate my wife's birthday. The Santa Maria was a four star hotel next to the Sanctuary and looked great value. I was worried it would not live up to expectations but it exceeded them. Excellent food, extremely helpful staff and ideal facilities. The English TV was limited to CNN news, but that is no bad thing for a pilgrimage. The cost of meals and drinks was amazingly good value. We did not need to look for cafes as we could have two teas in our hotel lounge with a log fire for under £5. I am sure we will go there again and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for pilgrims who want to be near to the Sanctuary in comfort.

Good location.Posted Feb 9, 2014
Pros: The location is excellent and the room in the new wing was very comfortable.
The close proximity to the sanctuary area was excellent. We got a premier room in the new wing which was very comfortable and new. I would definitely stay again when i visit Fatima. The breakfast buffet served the same food each day, but we enjoyed the simple spread. Nothing fancy but substantial. But we had gone during the off-peak season (Jan - Feb), perhaps during the peak season there is a better breakfast selection.

Hotel Santa MariaPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Its proximity to the Shrine and its open 1st floor atmosphere.
Cons: Change the menu and prices for lunch and dinner. Provide more eggs in the morning for latecommers.
This is a wonderful hotel. It is close to the Sanctuary Shrine and has a prayer room of its own. Close to several restaurants and shopping too. Staff was absolutely wonderful and helpful. The only negative is that the hotel's lunch menu and dinner menu and prices are the same. They should be varied. Because of that we ate dinner one night (service and food was great), but not lunch the following day. Breakfast buffett was very bountiful. Lots of choices although if you come late, don't expect any eggs to be left (we came late both mornings we stayed and eggs were gone by then both times). But there is plenty of other food to eat.

Good locationPosted Aug 19, 2013
Good location close next to the sanctuary. Good value for money. Carpets and bedding seems to be a bit dated.

Very close Location with ParkingPosted Jul 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was in an excellent location. Walking distance to everything. On site parking is a bonus. The rooms are large and clean. The hotel restaurant was clean, bright, and the food is good. The Hotel staff speaks English well, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. The only negative was that they could not change Dollars into Euros at the front desk.
