Happy with Hostal America
The staff at Hostal America were all very friendly and helpful. Although I had to wait a few hours for my room as I arrived early morning, I was able to have breakfast and sit in the living room. The location was close to the train and downtown and a nice walk. The only think that I might say was a little disappointing was the hot water, it kept going cold but I am not sure if it was my not being able to adjust the taps correctly, but it did come on intermittently. Aside from that minor issue it is a nice, clean, comfortable property.

Cheap stay in Santiago
Good cheap place near Plaza de Armas. The are is very run down though, with much better areas around Bellavista and Santa Lucia. The shower was awful and basically unusable. The water was cold and the shower head was broken. Breakfast was free but very basic with toast and cereal. Only powdered milk was provided.

Wonderful staff
The staff were so helpful and the hotel was perfect for what I wanted, a one night stop over in Santiago, would say here again

Nice hotel very close to central Santiago. The only downside was that the location of the hotel was displayed incorrectly on google maps, trivago and the Expedia website. Considering that my reason for picking the hotel was "is close to the bus station because I've just had a 18 hour bus ride which was delayed by 3 hours and my bank card isn't working" this was not ideal! Other than that everything was good. The address provided in the email was correct (compañía de Jesús rather than compañía). WiFi broke at around midnight but was fixed by the morning (I didn't ask anyone to fix anything)

The staff friendly and helpful. It is a good value place to stay. The neighborhood is not the high price area, however nice sidewalk cafes and restaurants close by. The only minor problems were the beds to soft and the barking watch dog next store in the construction site.

In the hostel is good possibilities to make own food. Grocery is very near, just across the street. Unfortunately the staff is unfriendly and did not have will to serve the customers. TVs is very poor in the rooms and common places. For example in the common living room TV has green picture. In the rooms has no airconditiones, only fan. Shower in our room was in very poor condition.

Next to a busy road. No Air Con. Had to open a window to get fresh air. At night, it was noisy. Hard to sleep. Room was smelly. Floor was dirty. Neighbourhood is fully of graffiti.

Perfect, depending on your needs
The only big negative is that the photos of the rooms does not match the dormitory-style that we experienced. We really only wanted a low cost one-night stay for a connecting flight, so it was perfect. The beds were very comfortable - only singles and bunks and crammed into long room. The bedding was lovely and warm and very clean. The shower was so lovely and hot - could have stayed in it for hours. But this is not in any way luxurious. For what we needed it was well worth it and a great price. It was within walking distance of plaza's, restaurants, craft market, castle, across the road from the supermarket. We could cook a lovely home-style meal in their kitchen - great. It is basic, and just what we needed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. And we don't speak Spanish. I am well past the age of student or backpacker style accommodations, however, I managed to enjoy my brief stay there, as it catered to all my needs for such a brief stayover for a sports team.

Según la página pagaba menos, al llegar cobraron iva, y carisimo para 2 camas que se movían y sonaban y además pequeña, lejos lo peor el baño, ya que era compartido y teníamos que esperar mucho para ocuparlo, 0 confianza.

혼자 찾아가기가 어렵습니다. 숙소에서 터미널까지 1km 정도를 가기위해 새벽에 택시를 이용했는데 숙소에서 자체적인 기사분을 택시라고 하면서 6000 CLP를 받더라구요. 절대 숙소에서 연결해주는 택시 이용하지 마세요.

Buena atención. Siendo un hostal tiene limitaciones comprensibles en la comodidad de las habitaciones, que se compensan en gran medida con la amabilidad y disposición de servicio de todos sus empleados. Otro punto a destacar es la limpieza de las instalaciones y habitaciones. El ambiente en general muy agradable y familiar.

En general el servicio fue bueno, pero al llegar al hotel, no mantuvieron el precio que reservamos en Hotels.com Nos cobraron más por el mismo cuarto.

Aunque la habitación no es tan cómoda si se compara con otros, esta acorde al precio. En general un buen servicio por parte del personal del hotel. Yo diria que si van por una o dos noches estrictamente por negocios y buscan ahorrar en el hotel sacrificando algunas comodidades, es una buena opción.

Für 2 Tage in Santiago in Ordnung
Das Hostal ist relativ nahe der Innenstadt (10 Min zu Fuß). Die Küche lässt sich gut nutzen, draußen, im sommerlich warmen Innenhof haben wir gerne gegessen. Unser Zimmer war renovierungsbedürftig. Die Dusche hatte einen minimalen Wasserstrahl, die Matratzen waren durchgelegen. Ich legte meine Komfort Thermarestmatte auf die Matratze, um besser schlafen zu können.

Goed te bereiken vanaf het vliegveld, niet duur, best centraal gelegen. Het verblijf was prima voor een nacht. Lijkt mij ook een goede plek voor groepen. Gebruik van de keuken is prettig.

O hotel é muito simples, sem aquecimento, quarto pequeno, tivemos que carregar nossas malas escada abaixo e acima, sem elevador. Ás 4 da manha 2 pessoas ficaram conversando no térreo e é como se estivessem no nosso quarto. Se puder pagar um pouco mais nao recomendo. Fiquei apenas uma noite e acho que deveria ter gasto um pouco mais. Se o valor for muito importante E a localização for interessante e o conforto nao for muitoimportante pode ficar.

Hostal Americano
O Hostal é bem localizado, facilitando o acesso ao centro, e demais pontos turísticos. Tem um super mercado que fica em frente, o metro fica a 2 quadras. As pessoas são muito solícitas, dão informação, chamam transporte. Estive com meus pais e uma tia, e fomos muito bem tratados, alias, já é a quarta vez que me hospedo nele. Quando se fala em Santiago, sempre recomendo o Hostal Americano.
