Pros: Location, amenities close at hand (though nothing that was 24Hrs; basically 8 'til late), close good dining, quiet, well presented.
Cons: Access coming from the west along Vitacura. Most of the local taxis took full advantage of scamming a few more pesos out of passengers.
Location: 15 minute taxi ride (in generally good traffic) to good malls and dining. Head east (towards the mountains) walking and there is good dining and pubs
The upside: surround by banks (either side and immediately to the front); a 5 minute walk along Avenida Vitacura to the east and you will find good restaurants, a very large supermarket and a pharmacy. Walk west along Avenida Vitacura and you will find two pharmacies with about everything that you would need. A nice quiet area where a quick 5 minute taxi ride will take you to the local medical district. A 15 minute taxi ride in good traffic will get you to either the largest mall in South America or to Parque Arauco, another equally good mall with great dining out facilities. The downside: The floors were thin; we had a family of about 5 staying above us and being quite energetic; they were generally running about until midnight and every footstep was heard. We didn't complain as we were mostly up until that time anyway, but for anyone planning to sleep.... My wife worked in hotel administration for several years and said that the hotel qualifies more as an "Express" rather than a full hotel. There were several things that we noted that were not typical of a hotel, for example the breakfast buffet would be cleared away while people were still eating, and the waiters would come out and start preparing their own breakfast while guests were still present. My general impression was that the hotel was understaffed. Cleanliness in general was good, however there was a plastic cover off a razor that sat in a corner of the bathroom floor for the entire time that we were there.

Very comfortable family room, good value for moneyPosted Jan 16, 2014
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice!
Location: Residential area in the east of Santiago, 15 min walk from the Costanera centre. The ski resort of Farellones is easily accessed from here.
This clean, modern hotel was our luxurious treat at the end of a family camping holiday. The hotel is located in an up-market residential area quite a long way from the centre but within walking distance of the Costanera centre and on public transport routes. It is an easy 20 minute drive to the airport. Our family room was spacious and comfortable with a view of the Andes. We appreciated that wifi, parking and a copious buffet breakfast were included in the price. The restaurant is better than average for a hotel. We'd certainly recommend this hotel to others.

Not much to comment my stay was very brief, stayed there only to sleep some hours after a long trip and before meetings.

2nd time at Plaza Sanfrancisco. I do like being in the centre of the city. The only detracting factor that takes away from my stay here (and the last time) is that there is terrible internet connections in the rooms. This could be a separate category on Trip Advisor because in the last year I have stayed in England, France, Belgium, Argentina and Chile. The internet varies in all these countries from excellent to 'just like snail mail'. Hotel Sanfrancisco is closer to the latter.
