Superb hotel, resort like feel!

Amazing staff, free buffet breakfast with endless iptions. Free wifi throughout hotel and room. Rent a car right at the hotel and taxis too. There is not much to do in Praia, so having this amazing hotel with a pool and the beach there was a blessing!

One night transit

Well located. Close to the city. We were there first week of March. Was windy so we did not use the pool. The morning buffet was ok. The bar serves a few dishes, very good. To be improved: wifii coverage in the hotel.

Sedan 2001 har jag flera gånger besökt Praia. Varje gång har jag bott på Tropico. (Har prövat andra hotell som inte varit några höjdare) Man vet vad man får på Tropico. Mest gillar jag det härliga, lugna poolområdet. En oas i huvudstadens myller! Servicen i receptionen hos en del unga kunde vara bättre! De behöver läras upp hur man bemöter långväga gäster och får dom att trivas. Andra personer har dock varit bra. Särskilt Trädgårdsmästarna som alltid gett mig blommor från de blommor som de ständigt ansar! Restaurangen har en förträfflig frukost, men maten i övrigt kunde vara bättre. Tror standarden sjunkit under de 15 år som gått... Sängarna är underbara och badrummet är också bra. Men se upp för halkrisken i duschen! På rummet finns ett litet kylskåp. Bra är säkerhetsskåpet i rummet. Byt ut klädhängarna! De är hopplösa... Önskvärt: en liten vattenkokare intill så man kan ta en kopp te' när som helst. Men som helhet: Tropico är ett säkert val.

Dear Ann-Gerd, I'm sorry for not answering in Swedish. Many thanks for your comments regarding our services. We will definetely invest in training. We already did it at our hotel. In 2011-2012 we spent almost 4 million euros in renovations and expansion. You see, we now have 93 rooms, instead of 51,and the entire hotel has been deeply renovated. We have a dessalinization plant and even optical fiber cable. Once again, many thanks for such a good apreciation of our Hotel! Jorge Xavier - GM

zusammen mit Freunden waren wir über Silvester im Pestana tropico. Insgesamt ist es das Geld nicht unbedingt Wert. Schaut man genauer hin erkennt man das das Hotel in die Jahre gekommen ist und findet allerlei kleine Makel die das ansonsten gute Bild schmälern! Bedienungen und rezeptionisten ingesamt nicht wirklich die freundlichsten. Aber soweit ok. Deutlichster Minuspunkt: eine total verdreckte toilettenschüssel bei Bezug des Zimmers. Diese wurde dann erst unter mürrischem Gemurmel gereinigt.

Must stay in Praia!

The hotel was the nicest hotel I stayed in in Cape Verde, the service at the front desk was super helpful and pleasant. Almost everyone at the hotel spoke some degree of English so communication was never an issue.
