“Best Hotel in capital city of Santo Domingo”
Very convince facility, very impress, icant wait to go back
“best location if you want to do local things!”
the staff was very helpful. the rooms were phenomenal. Everything about this hotel was amazing. i will definitely reccomend this place to my friends and consider staying here once more! thanks!
“Ok but..”
The hotel is in a very central location in the capital - near US consulate, which was the reason for my visit. Hotel is well maintained and recent construction gives it very good, upmarket look. The only two complaints I have are of the staff (restaurant and hotel) and the internet connection. The restaurant staff are quiet unfriendly and not very service oriented. The walk around and just picking up your plates (sometime while you still have food left on your plate). After the first meal, I had to consciously hold on to one of my cutlery so they know that I am still working on my plate. Hotel staff are just as unpleasant - they rarely greet you and look the other way when they see you coming. Only time they did show any excitement was when I was leaving as they got to call their known taxi driver who I would have to pay USD $40 (somehow calculated to $1500 pesos - according to them). The rooms come with paid internet service but if you are willing to do some business work, do not stay here or pay for this service. I wasted $10 a day by paying for this service. When I complained at the reception, they asked me to keep the window open and move the laptop near the window to get better signal. I had not too many choices since I was going there for business at the US consulate. I would definitely choose one of the other hotels by the beach where they are more used to and welcoming towards tourists.
“bad hotel, no hot water, no air condition”
they change me three time in diferent room because no air condition in firt room second roon no hot water, last room no light. ooo my good. i do not recomend to any bady
“Well appointed hotel in close to true centre of city...”
Barcelo Lina is newly remodelled and provides excellent accommodations for all sorts of guests looking to visit Santo Domingo.
“Excellent value for money”
Superior floor very hospitable, nice pool
“DR-First Timer”
The hotel was very nice. I think we got the tail end of renovations. They were installing/upgrading an elevator when we got there and a day or two before we left, it was up and operating. The staff were great. I felt very secure and the place was always clean. It appeared that they were short on towels because the room was refreshed and the towels were delivered later in the afternoon but they were fresh. The room service was great and not that expensive. I loved the bar/cigar lounge in the lobby. The pool area was great! The only thing that I did not like about the hotel was the early closing of the pool (no swimming after 6P.M.!!!!!) and the guest fee. I would def stay at the Barcelo on my next visit.
“can't wait to go back”
My fiance and I stayed at the Barcelona santo a few weeks ago and it was amazing, the staff is very nice they answer to your needs in a timely manner and most of them speak English which was a plus for us because neither of us speak Spanish. Very quiet at night we sleep like babies. Housekeeping everyday unless you don't want to and the food is so fresh. We can't wait to go back
“They need some serious review of their management methods. Not impressed”
I have been lodging in this hotel several times, at a point it seemed that they were starting to improve. But unfortunately went down constantly
