“Hotel Clarion best of Santo Domingo”
We stayed two nights here and loved it. We've made quite a few trips to Santo Domingo (from the USA) and have stayed at the Hilton and the Occidental Embajador. By far we enjoyed the Clarion the most (and it was the least expensive). The front desk staff all spoke excellent English. There was a fruit platter and water waiting for us in our room. The restaurant cafe on the third floor had wonderful breakfasts each morning (included with our room) and excellent lunch choices. The more formal restaurant on the first floor was nice for dinner as well. Overall I'd highly recommend this hotel.
“Awesome for Price”
Hotel was very strong for the price. Check in was a little slow but rooms were nice. We didn't stay long but were just there for an overnight before we left for relief work in Haiti. The rooms were spacious (double queen room) but the beds were not super comfortable. Air conditioning great, quiet, and facilities seemed nice by what we could see. What was most impressive was the basic gesture of a phone call to the room after we checked in to make sure everything was ok. They also provided an ethernet cable at check in if you needed it which was great to have free internet. Definite bonus. Some restuarants within walking distance and we felt comfortable going to them in a large group but maybe to far if you were on your own.

The hotel staff is very friendly and accomadating. The hotel itself is conviently located close to many things to see, do and resteraunts.The overall upkeep of the rooms are very clean.
