The best hotel in DR.

Pros: Free reliable wi-fi all over the hotel and the rooms without having to sign in, great location, great lobby, modern rooms.
Cons: None, this hotel is great.
Location: Perfect location in the middle of Santo Domingo's night life.
Stayed in this hotel and consider it the best hotel in DR because of its modern rooms, all facing the ocean, free reliable wi-fi all over the hotel, prompt service, great, not too big not too small lobby, marble floors, great food, and excellent location in the middle of the city's night life.

A good hotel

Pros: The excellent location
Cons: Maid service can be improved especially complimentary things
Location: The hotel its located at the malecon in front of carribean sea, that its a beautiful area. Its near walking distance of restaurants and El Villar
The hotel in general is very good, the attention from arrival to departure was very good. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The pool its excellent an have a well equipped gym.

Good Hotel

Pros: Clean rooms
Cons: The hotel restaurant was too high priced
Location: Local restaurants are with in walking distance of the hotel like 1/4 mile or less.
The Hotel is in a good location walking distance to Restaurants. The only bad thing is the hotel Restaurant is over priced. The room was clean and the view of the ocean was great too.

Hotel is being renovated since their transition from Intercontinental to Crowne Plaza. Some rooms have been updated but the smell of mildew still lingers in some floors from the days the AC unit needed a key to switch on (temp/humidity fluctuations make mold boom). The suites are beautiful and the hotel show great promise. The staff is quite friendly. WiFi works great and the gym is small but complete. I'm coming back to this hotel.

Lack of Customer Service

There are so many employees and very little customer service. They are not friendly and we would stand and wait for service while many were at the coffee shop. The area is not safe and I waited for over 10 minutes outside the hotel at night waiting for someone to help with luggage. I saw many people with suits and very professional looking but very serious and not friendly at all, the only friendly person was the housekeeper!!! The pool was closed for repairs, very frustrating.

Disappointed with some basics

Pros: Staff friendly 24 hour gym
Cons: see above: layout of the room needs rethinking and state of basic facilities in the room need looking at
Location: Malecon is quite remote, it's not really where the action is. Everything is reachable with taxis, which are always available, but do allow enough time
I don't usually write feedback, but the CP in SD needs to up its game. Some silly things erked me: (this was room 918, BTW) 1) Electric sockets dreadfully located in the room, behind sofa and beds 2) The toilet didn't flush properly 3) The shower/bath mixer didn't work very well. 4) You couldn't see the TV from the sofa 5) No laundry forms to fill out I fed all this back 5 days ago, still no response from the hotel, which adds to the disappointment. I expect more from IHG hotels. Only redeeming factor was that the staff were friendly, as always.

You Were Here? Really?......

Started off with whom turns out to be one of the management with a bang! Meaning i had called the hotel the evening prior informing them i had been having issues with my card, he greets my cousin and i with the attitude that we did not have the money to afford this hotel, and we did not belong anyway! I went online to this site with the same card and viola! it went through, i even added an additional days stay. in all fairness to the staff, they did allow us to eat from the mini bar (my cousin is diabetic) we DID NOT order alcohol we do not drink anyway......we do cook with wines, but....i digress the view was absolutely amazing of the ocean and the decor was very pretty. Santo Domingo has left a lasting impression
