NOT resort standards!Posted Dec 4, 2013
Pros: right on the beach.
Cons: Everything needs to improve!
Will never return to this place again and will not recommend anyone to stay here! There is no phone line to call anywhere...when asking staff about it, they simply lead you on by saying that it will be fixed in the morning or the next day, and so on. Often there is no water...can be in the evening or in the morning. Hard to control the air conditioning settings; not many English channels on TV. The food...hardly anything to eat for breakfast and it's the same every day; staff is not around and one must search for them; when they do appear, no one speaks any English making it very difficult to communicate. Lunch is rice and beans and perhaps a piece of fruit if you're lucky. We never had supper at the hotel and therefore cannot comment. The keys to the rooms don't work too well and I had to go to the front desk more than once to ask for new ones or have one of them come to open the door. There is usually no one at reception and, after calling and calling, a security guard shows up who yells for someone to come. The desk attendant even told me that the cards are old and should be replaced. This place should have one star if that! Will NEVER go back.

being a travel agent, the potential of the property is there. the location is beautiful. with better management, customer service reps and most of all new chefs, this would be a great place to stay. we had to check out a night early because we starved. the food was the worst I have tasted. My husband suggested we check out early.

Resort...I think NOT!!!!!;Posted Apr 22, 2013
Truly the worst hotel I've ever been to. Beds are extremely hard, bathroom is old and disgusting, the morning chef is awful. Stood there 3days and had no phone service in my room throughout my stay. Also no hot water for 2days. This place is more of a motel than resort. It doesn't even deserve a star.

Decaying resortPosted Jan 27, 2013
Pros: The staff was great, friendly, and tried to make my stay a good one.
Cons: The decay.
Location: Beautiful beach nice mostly quiet street.
When I arrived on Jan 20th they had not read on reservation that I have an electric scooter to walk. They put me on 3rd floor with stairs only. So they had no rooms and put me up for the night in a room the maids use as it was in ill repair. No t-paper, no towels, curtains shredded and couldn't close them. Next day I got a room on frist floor but curtains didn't fit slidding doors so didn't close. Out of 450 +/- rooms only 58 rooms are somewhat rentable. Of those the water wasn't working in showers on 3rd floor. I looked around the property and all the buildings are decaying, stairs are broken, windows missing, airconditioners missing, Some place total walls are missing. One pool is completely down. They don't get enough business so no nighty disco, no entertainment nightly, no activities unless a group comes in. It was all strange that they would have anybody. One restaurant, one buffet closed and more. Basically during the day there were hours I was the only person there.

Nice 12 day vacation.Posted Dec 31, 2012
Pros: food, employees, privacy, security, pools, beach. everything seemed fine
Cons: location of the hotel, little hard to find at 1st and the hotel didn't have wifi through out the whole hotel.
Location: take a right at the police station then a left and go straight, it's on the left, heads up. theres about 10 speed bumps all they all hide lol
Hotel was nice. Rooms were cleaned daily. Staff went above and beyond. food was good. Only thing i didn't like was that they didn't have the wifi through out the whole hotel. That's it. Good family vacation, romantic nights, not many poachers. Also all the staff was friendly.

Don't go to this hotel!!!Posted Dec 10, 2012
When I got to the hotel (very late at night) they didn't have my reservation. I had to make two long distance calls to Expedia to try to solve the situation. Expedia customer service tried to help but the person "in charge of reservation" at the hotel was not there and no one new what to do. So it took about 17 hours to confirm that I had a reservation and I had paid for 2 nights in this hotel. I had to open up a voucher pending for payment if they weren't able to confirm I had already paid. Also, there was a party at the hotel and people were yealling and screaming in the hallway up to 5 or 6 in the morning. I called security but they did nothing. The phone and the tv didn't work and the room had very poor light. Also, the food is horrible. I have been using Expedia for a very long time and I had never had a problem, that is until now. I would have rather pay more money and not go through such a dreadful experience.

My stay could have been better if I was in another hotel. Talanquera Beach Resort Hotel is the worst place i stayed so far in my travelling in Latin America countries. The place needs a good make over and other changes have to be made. Talanquera has potential but the owner must dish out some money to fix up the place.

Quite HotelPosted Nov 29, 2012
Hotel is not what used to be. They have three pools but only one was operating. The foot was very good but not too many options The water in the shower was not strong. There were not entertainments show or any activity for the night except they openned the disco only two nights, depending of the number of guess in the hotel. If you are looking for a relaxing place and not activity, this is a perfect place.

Think twice before bookingPosted Nov 27, 2012
Pros: The beach excellent.
Cons: Maintenance of room and facilities
Location: Location is off the beaten path, and has the potential of being great.
Arrived at hotel one hour after check-in. No toilet paper or towels in bathroom. Toilet did not work, shower leaked substantially, bathroom light, if you turned it off, would take 5 minutes to go on. No Internet in rooms, and they charge $10 US for use of Internet in lobby. Tried calling front desk, only to find phone did not work. Called them on cellular phone, but they did not answer - phone nor properly hung up. Brief blackout turned TV off, had to go to front desk to have them explain how to turn it back on. After a while TV became black and white, but after pushing buttons, got color back. AC worked great, and bed comfortable. Sliding door to beach not locked when I arrived, and slightly off track, but I fixed it and locked OK. Best about the place is the solitude - very few customers. Beach is pretty nice and beach security person excellent and very attentive. Food OK, but not great. Grounds are clean, and hotel staff tries to be helpful. Beach towels thread bare and with holes. One pool empty. Substantial decrease in quality from prior visit. On Sunday, water spout in bathroom fell off.
