So bad rating because your driver waited at the airport for 1 hour and you ended up taking a taxi to split the price with another person and you didn't pay the driver for waiting for you that long

I had a pleasure to stay in Porto Castello September 18-21. In my opinion : good location , near the beach , good size swimming pool, spacious facilities in comparison with Fira’s accommodations , peaceful and quiet place. We could hear the sea waves from our balcony at night. We love the free transportation to and from the hotel to Fira daily. I highly recommend this hotel.

Calm & tranquil hotel.
Calm & tranquil hotel with a pool, and one minute walk to the sea. Quiet & peaceful, away from all the madness. There's a free shuttle service to/from Fira every three hours. There are various breakfasts served untill 12pm. You can also order from a take away menu for lunch and dinner. Cindy and George are lovely. The only negative for me was smoking is allowed in the rooms..

Nice clean property. Some flights to Santorini arrive at 2am and this property has a paid shuttle to the airport and a 24 hour concierge which is very nice.

Stayed here overnight during a layover. Staff was super friendly and nice. Shuttle to ferry port/airport is very convenient. Unfortunately, our room reeked of cigarette smoke which I found to be overwhelming.

Wonderful
We just stopped for for one night because we had a late arrival and it offered a reasonably priced shuttle. But now we want to go back and stay for longer! Quaint old fashioned hotel like stepping back in time but everything spotless so quiet if you don’t mind cats and wood pigeons. Can’t wait to return

Excellent place to stay. Team working in hotel extremely friendly and helpful. They help us with all the problems with other booking ( sightseeing booking). If I will be going again to Santorini I definitely will choose this hotel. Area is really relaxing, beach is only few yards from hotel and there is bar next to the beach. Beach is quiet, excellent for sunbathing and swimming. There is nice swimming pool in hotel , and rooms area cleaned daily, with fresh towels every second day. Hotel staff went above and beyond and they do provide free transportation to Thira and from Thira to hotel. If you look for friendly , quiet and climatic place this hotel definitely is ticking all the boxes.

The weather was great in Santorini but to top it off everything in Porto Castello was excellent. The staff always likes to help if there's anything and even if they are super overcrowded like now. Their priority are their guests.

After explore the island is good to return in a nice and quet place like Porto Castello. Transfer from hotel to Fira and back in every 2 hours. Nice and helpfull staff good food and cheaper ,the pool is excelent. Good value for money.

A hidden gem in Thira
George & Cindy have great hosting skills, always relaxed and friendly. The shuttle service is free and is a great plus point than wanted me to stay at this place. Had no issues with cleanliness at the hotel. It was a nice relaxed vibe. Loved the balcony and sea view from my room. The sea, and small picturesque harbour is also a minutes walk away. Nice quiet area, not like noisy and busy Thira town.

Positives: The main host i.e., the husband and wife has good customer service skills and demonstrated a lovely family relaxed environment approach. Could Do Better: The property is situated nearly 4kms away from the Town centre; so although reasonable arrangements are there for drop-off every two hours to town and pick-up on request, but the same drop-off is done at the outskirts in the ring road and picked up from the same point; this is not ideal for the tourists who has no idea of where they are and the place name to return back to pick up point especially on the day-1. The town centre meeting point is just another 400 yards away but it is a steep up-hill with lots of buses parked and limited walking space making it very difficult to get there each and every time. It hardly takes another 1-2 minute to drive-up and join back to ring road! Although picking-up is done, the time management could be improved as everytime 5-10 minutes late from the agreed time.

Extremely Pleased With This Hidden Gem!
I extended my Mediterranean holiday by staying here for 4 nights at Porto Castello. It was my first time to Greece and this hotel and area did not disappoint. Only a short distance from the airport in a less populated area of the island, steps from the Sea and absolutely gorgeous coastline that is accessible, walkable and swimmable. They offer a very decent, ample continental style breakfast, free shuttle service every 2 hours to the city and airport transport for a fee. The room is clean spacious with a private outdoor sitting area. The pool is not heated but is I believe filtered sea water, deep and quite large with wonderful sitting, tanning spaces surrounded by gorgeous flowers. They offer a nice kiosk where you can purchase snacks, drinks or a very nice meal. There is also a very nice more upscale outdoor restaurant right on the beach, a dock where you can fish, watch boats and wild life. I would have stayed longer had I not other commitments. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast area and lounge are very nice, with spacious sitting couches and chairs and a large television for those that desire.

I booked online paying attention to everything that was listed as STANDARD.. Standard sea view? that was a lie, when I opened my window it was hill. Minibar and drinks? that was a lie, they provided an EMPTY fridge. They didn’t provide any toiletries besides 2 bar soaps the size of quarters. Literally nothing else. Ohh and the shower? No water pressure AT ALL, I have pictures. Oh and u have to hold up the shower head with one of your hands because there was no holder. I contacted the supervisor/manager and they told me that every room is like that, that the water flow and shower head was like ours. The supervisors/managers extremely rude given an attitude about anything you asked. Very unprofessional and I recommend whoever is looking at this site to stay away from this hotel. I can go on and on and we only stayed 3 days so imagine for yourself.

The free shuttle transfer into Fira was a godsend couldn't have done without it, could have done with being every hour in the evening though. Small balcony for 1 person, room was cleaned regularly but there were insects crawling around. I had them spray the room and it was okay after that. Not really anything close to the hotel though the small beach was a bonus and there's a nice restaurant / bar on it, though I didn't dine there. Overall can't complain for the price

Super slow wifi.
The hotel is beautiful, the owners were excellent and communicated well. I had to leave and go to another hotel because the wifi was so slow I wasn't able to work.
