we enjoyed our stay, however, I think readers should know that some of the rooms are on the walking street and everyone can look in the window. Staff was very nice but we were surprised at the room. Beautiful view however.

I like the customer service, sure work an extra mile to provide an over expectation services for its customers. I really like it except its wireless internet is not working well in the room.

The real experience
Posted Jan 31, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel is exactly as its name suggests, a "traditional" Greek settlement. If you want to lounge around a large pool, this is not the place for you. But if you want a unique experience with exceptional staff, this is. The hotel is located at a quiet end of Fira, but so close to walk in to restaurants and shops. The staff cannot do enough for you, and if you like interesting places, this hotel ticks all the boxes

Beautiful rooms, with uber-spectacular views. Located close to the center. Complimentary pick up from the airport and drop-off at the port. Complimentary bottle of wine and fruit on arrival. Price in line with the other luxury hotels in Santorini but much more expensive (10 times) than the typical room to let on the greek isles.

Romantic hotel for a couple
Posted Jan 18, 2012
Pros: Beautiful location - views
Cons: Pool was more of a plunge pool
Location: Fantastic location
The hotel had a perfect view of the volcano and out to sea. We could sit on our balcony each night and watch the amazing sunset. It was ideal for going into Thira town in the evening as only about 5/10 minutes walk away. But there were lots of steps so not ideal for families with small children. The rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly, helpful and willing to please. Disappointing was the size of our room, balcony and pool.

Great hotel for couples or small families.

Pros: The view, the customer service, the location, and more!
Cons: Daily they turned off our AC so when we returned to our room it was blazing hot!
Location: Perfect! If you are stayin in Fira this is the hotel to stay.
We absolutely loved our stay at Aigialos! We were on our honeymoon and before our arrival we came from Oia, Santorini; we thought for sure beating our experience there was impossible. The staff was all very courteous and willing to do anything to make our stay even better. For example, to catch a ferry to our destination after Santorini we scheduled a ferry but the time was not until 5:50 p.m. The hotel let us stay in our room and all of our luggage at no additional charge; impeccable customer service. Also, one thing we found pretty neat, our wake up call was a staff member knocking at our door instead of a phone recording. These are just a few examples, we could go even further to mention the beautiful patio from our room where they set up breakfast for us daily at no additional charge. We highly recommend this hotel to everyone!!

The most memorable thing of my trip to Greece
Posted Jan 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
Not quite a "hotel" in traditional terms, but it definitely lives up to it's moniker by being a luxury traditional settlement. In total, there are 16 suites. Some of which are rooms, some of which give you the feeling you own your own villa. Regardless of which room/suite you're staying in, you will have the most amazing view you've ever seen. Because of the size of the hotel, the staff is small, but don't let that scare you off because they have the most personalized attention I've ever seen. The words "amazing" and "incredible" cannot even start to describe our experience here. The staff here is literally first class. The location of the hotel is situated behind several winding streets. A little hard to find at first, but is close to everything in the town of Fira once you get used to the area. We've been around the entire island, and it seems Fira is the liveliest in the day and the night.

Perfect week
Posted Jan 14, 2012 on Hotels.com
Like so many these days, my wife and I live busy lives and we wanted to go someplace warm, beautiful, and quiet to rest for a week. To our happy surprise, we experienced one of our best ever vacations. The island is more lovely than the postcards suggest. Our early May arrival meant pleasant weather and low season crowds. Most important, however, was our decision to stay at the Aigialos Settlement. For one week, we led a graceful and peaceful life together. Manager Vivi and her colleagues anticipated our every need and made us feel more like family guests than "paying" guests. In all my years of travel, I have never been better served by a hotel staff. And if that is not enough reason to visit, the food was delicious and wonderfully prepared from local ingredients. After watching cruise ships come and go every day from the two balconies in our suite, I feel comfortable suggesting that you skip the cruise and spend your week at the Aigialos instead. You will not regret it.

Aigialos Luxury Traditional Settlement

We only had a week for our honeymoon and what a find, the island is stunning and this hotel was highlight of our stay -it doesnt feel like a hotel, more like your own villa. The hotle is made up of a few old homes on the cliff edge. But of course you get room service! The views are the best in the area. The food is excellent although the wine is a little over priced. The staff are very friendly and when we forgot our credit card to pay for dinner on the other side of the island, the hotel ran to our rescue and paid the bill for us over the phone! Now thats personal service! we will be back!
