Ahhhhhh-mazing stayPosted Jun 25, 2014
Great vacation at the boathouse. We were housed in room #8 which had a wonderful balcony overlooking the pool and beach. The room was great. We enjoyed the spaciousness of this hotel as compared to the closet sized room we had in Athens. Staff was extremely friendly and speaks excellent English. Wether you chose to sit at the beach or by the pool to relax you will love the boathouse hotel. They bend over backwards to ensure your stay is nothing but great....I am planning a return trip and hope that my hotel will be available. Great value

Very nicePosted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: The family feel
Cons: Nothing, loved it as it was.
Location: Location was excellent and on the beach close to all the bars restaurants etc. the picturesque towns of Thira and Oia were only a bus ride away.
Loved staying here, very friendly family run hotel on the beach. Breakfast was very good and the swimming pool area, relaxing. Diane, and any member of staff, were always willing to help and do anything for you.

Lovely Little HotelPosted Jun 7, 2014
Pros: Nice facilities, very friendly staff, great convenient location, free breakfast and wifi, room size and sea view.
Cons: Not enough hot water to shower, but I can imagine this happens to many hotels in the area as most of them are powered by solar panels.
Location: Plenty of restaurants, shops, many beaches around, sightseeing spots, water sports areas, very close to the airport and to bus stop for connections.
We stayed in this hotel in late May, and we had a fantastic time. The staff particularly are extremely friendly and helpful. The facilities are very nice and inviting. Especially the bar serves amazing cocktails for you to enjoy by the pool at reasonable prices. Our room was quite big although simple, with a king size bed, and a lovely big balcony terrace on the front, overlooking the sea. The location is great, right on the seafront and there are many restaurants right outside the hotel as well as shops for your convenience. Some sightseeing points are also a stones throw away from the hotel, such as Ancient Thira, the famous local Wine Museum, and a lovely open-air cinema all within walking distance. The bus stop for connections to the center and other parts of the island is also very close to the hotel within a short walk distance. There is also easy access to other beaches like Perissa beach, which is only about 5 minutes by boat from Kamari Beach. A breakfast buffet and wifi included are included the price which is very convenient. Overall a very nice hotel in every way. We will definitely stay again!

Friendly family run hotelPosted Jun 5, 2014
Warm and friendly welcome - could not have been more helpful. Being female on my own they made me feel comfortable. It was easy to meet people and chat and also nice to have some time to relax quietly - great environment for a group - the bar is small and personal. Good location for walking out at night as right on front and near all tavernas. Cleaners do an excellent job. Would not hesitate to return to stay there.

Attractive hotel right opposite the beachPosted Oct 13, 2013
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful and the pool was very clean and appealing.
Cons: The rooms could be improved a bit so they don't look so basic. Most British people appreciate a kettle in the room, including us. Better hairdrier.
Location: Great location right opposite the black beach. Beach chairs and umbrellas very reasonable. Buses nearby to main towns. Trips to volcanoes, etc.
The first impression from the outside was very good. We were met by a very friendly, helpful member of staff who showed us to our room. The room was very clean but definitely basic. However it had a fridge which was necessary during the summer for water, etc. The hairdrier was very small and needed a good clean as it was sticky from previous guests hair products and was not really up to the job as it cut out after a few minutes on the high heat. The shower was hand-held, which is always a bit tricky, but I think this is intentional as they don't want you to get too comfortable and use lots of water! We asked about upgrading but the cost of that was astronomical so we decided to stay put. The room was adequate for our purpose. It was cleaned daily and the linen and towels replaced twice a week. Only breakfast was available, unlike all the other hotels along the beach. During the rest of the day and evening only cold drinks were available.

Nice studios close to the beachPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: Location:- quiet but close to beach, restaurants, supermarkets and bus stop. Cleanliness:-rooms cleaned daily Staff:-friendly, helpful and efficient
Cons: The addition of a microwave and a kettle would have been helpful for self-catering.
Location: Close to beach with sunbeds and water sports. Quad bikes and vehicles for hire. Bars and restaurants nearby. Ruins of Ancient Thira walking distance.
Spent eight very enjoyable days at the studios. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Room was very large with a double and a single bed. It was cleaned every day. The room had a balcony overlooking a small garden area. The front door opened on to the area around the pool. The pool was exceptionally clean, never busy and there were plenty of sunbeds. The area was quiet although being close to the airport it was very noisy when a plane passed over. Fortunately there are only a few flights each day. The Studios are located at the quiet end of Kamari, 30 to 40 yards up a very pleasant side street with two supermarkets close by. All the amenities of the resort are within a short walk. A superb location. The main strip with the restaurants and bars runs parallel to the beach and is a delight to walk both during the day and at nightl

Overall great experience. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. We had two small kids and the location was great for getting around with a stroller and for access to beach and restaurants/shopping.

Great Place, Great Location.Posted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: Generous sized rooms, lovely pool area, friendly, helpful staff. Very clean.
Cons: Given the size of the rooms, the bathroom could be a bit bigger but not the end of the world. A note to guests about respecting noise levels.
Location: Perfect location at the airport end of Kamari beach. Almost endless selection of Bars, Tavernas shops and supermarkets all along the beach front.
We had a lovely stay here. We were in the studios, which are a two minutes walk around the corner from the Boathouse Hotel, right at the airport end of Kamari beach. The rooms were very spacious with a small kitchenette area. From the main room door you step right out onto the beautiful poolside which has plenty of sunbeds and from the huge french doors onto your own balcony which had a side on sea view. At times the rooms echoed and carried the noise of the aircraft coming into land and if there happened to be any traffic or people outside. You must accept noise from landing aircraft if you stay anywhere on Kamari beach front as it is right on the approach flight path but you soon get used to it and there aren't many through the night. Traffic was early morning delivery vans and an occasional road sweeper. Other guests, well you there's not a lot you can do about other guests being a little bit noisy coming in late and as mentioned previously the rooms amplify the sound as they are big with high ceilings and tiled floors. Overall this is a nice place to stay, perfectly located, very friendly, kind and courteous staff who really couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. Would recommend if you want a good place to stay and would stay again ourselves if we go back to Kamari.

Great getaway beach location with fab staffPosted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: the staff and owners are fantastic and could not do enough for us. Although the room was basic it was more than comfortable and spotlessly clean.
Location: Literally ten meters to the beach with lots of bars just a few minutes stroll away. Gorgeous food in all the local restaurants and boats available too
Ten days of complete Chill out in the most scenic place we have ever been to. The island is everything you can expect and more. Sunsets and swimming in the caldera on a daily basis a complete holiday heaven
