Sunset viewPosted May 6, 2014
Pros: The location and staff
Cons: WiFi and TV in the rooms
Location: On the caldera. Easy to get to restaurants and shopping. Also easy to get to Ammoudi Bay. Short ferry boat ride to the active side of the volcano
Perfect location on the caldera to watch the famous sunset. The staff was wonderful and so good to me. The rooms are simple and not over done which makes it easier for me have a nice time. Just enough of everything.at a great price.

Great Santorini stay (once we got the right room)Posted Oct 13, 2013
Overall, we had a great time in Oia in Santorini staying at the VIP Suites. The rooms we got [eventually] were spacious, very conviniently located, and the view was just to die for. However, one important note is that the hotel rooms are spread in different locations in Oia and it does matter a lot which one you end up in, in terms of accessibility (the first one we got to was very inaccessible with dozens of tall stairs at the very end of the town), room interior (the second one we checked was below our expectations), and view. The third and final ones (rooms 9 and 10) were great on all fronts. We especially couldn't get enough of opening the door in the morning to the amazing Caldera view and eat breakfast on our private porch in front of it. I must say that the staff was very helpful and patient with helping us find just the right room (it probably helped that it was the low season). Bottom line - if you get the right room, this is a wonderful stay in Oia.

not a good choice if you're young couplesPosted Jun 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
SANTORINI VIP SUITES has a few choice along OIA. I did not expect to be booked a different VIP SUITES with my group. I went over to their hotel and i did a comparison. It was a real disappointment that their hotel is with a nice room setup and it's new , with a small private pool , easily assessable , with WIFI connection , with breakfast and most importantly there was a reception. Above all that i've mentioned , my room has nothing. Far away from the chapel and a long walk over. The room was nice with a unique cave design however , the setup was old , old shower , the bed was hard like rock , only 2 pillows , the only pathetic old CTV was also broken , there was no phone in the room therefore we cant call for any help and the room was so far from everything without any reception even we scream for help no one would hear us. The only plus point is that this room is very near to the castle and it's very quiet so it's perfect for old couples above 80 to enjoy the beautiful cave room and the serene surrounding. No wifi in the room is the biggest mistake i've made for this booking. Basically this is just a room not a hotel. No amenities no service at all. If you wan peace and living out of nowhere then this room is good if not it's far from good.

Great spot!Posted Jun 26, 2012
Pros: Location, cool authentic feel, beautiful room.
Cons: Not having direct contact with hotel staff in case issues came up.
Location: Perfect location!
This hotel is amazing. Beautiful scenery. You wake up with the sun shining off the ocean. There are a lot of cats around. They won't bug you if you don't feed them. Perfect location. Oia is great. This place is quiet for sleeping but close to all the restaurants, shops and most popular place for watching the sunset.

Highly RecommendPosted Jun 23, 2012 on Hotels.com
We loved our stay at VIP and we would Highly Recommend it. Great customer service with free transfers to and from ferry or airport. Fantastic location and the best breakfast we had our whole 6 weeks away. Our room (suite 8) was big, comfortable beds and had a fabulous view of sunset as we sipped beer on our balcony - Bliss!

Wrong location displayed on expediaPosted May 10, 2012
The location of the hotel is very misguiding. Looking at the map, showing hotel inside Oia town, on expedia we booked the hotel but once reached we were told by the agency that its on the other side of the island which was a quite isolated part. Hence had to pay 40 euros extra to get the hotel in OIA town.

Do not stay herePosted Jun 23, 2010
This property is not a hotel, it is a collection of independently owned studios. The description of the property does not mention that it is 150 steps down (and 150 steps back up) from the main level in Oia. The furniture is minimal. In the main bedroom, the mattress did not fit the base of the bed, the sheets did not fit the mattress, there were no bedside tables, and no furniture or closet in which to hang clothes. We had to live out of our suitcases. In the living room, there were two cane-seat chairs (for a suite which slept four), and nothing to eat at. Even to have a coffee table, we had to put the TV on the floor. The kitchenette had a single electric ring and one saucepan. The floors were filthy, and were not washed during our stay. The "white" towels were thin and grey with use. There was nothing with which to clean the kitchenette or dry dishes. The water heater was so small that three of us could not have a hot shower. Overall, appalling value for money and a disaster.

The best part of our Christmas trip!Posted Jan 13, 2010
Stop searching for places to stay on Santorini and book this hotel! It is everything you are looking for in the Greek Islands -- charming blue and white decor, superb view, 90 seconds from the end of the island where sunsets are best, unbelievably warm and wonderful service. We just finished a 3 week trip through Greece over Christmas and this hotel was definitely the highlight. The name is misleading -- we were concerned we would end up in some pre-fab high-rise, but this hotel is the best Santorini has to offer if you are looking for ambience, charm, and service. Make sure you realize you will be in Oia, though -- this is not in Thira but on the end of the island. Much quieter and more peaceful than crowd-burdened Thira. Highly recommended!
