Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: Close to the airport as I was only connecting the next day.
Cons: Proper maintenance of rooms.
Location: OK Location as close to the airport ideal when transiting only.
Hotel was Ok but rooms are old, flush of toilet was not working properly, shower was also working terrible.

Nice hotel close to Airport

The room service pizza was presented well and quickly. Unfortunately however, it was lacking in quality/taste. Breakfast did not include whole grain breads.

Inflexible

Posted Aug 4, 2014
As a teacher taking around 11 students to Brazil for international events, I find this hotel to be very inflexible and resulted in added stress for my trip. We were in transit in Sao Paulo for 15 hours during the day both ways, so we booked and prepaid for one room on two different days coming into Brazil and leaving Brazil to simply put our luggage in there and for our students to take a shower. The amount of grief that was given to us by the hotel was ridiculous. Gave me several reasons from security, cost, to comfortableness of my students, they denied my students to even go up for a quick shower. I understand where they are coming from, but they offered no alternative solutions. And the attitude and grief I've received has made our trip much more stressful than it needed to be. Unacceptable.

Dear Guest, I appreciate you taking time to rate our hotel and sharing your experience at the São Paulo Airport Marriott Hotel. I understand your situation with your students, but our rooms were not designed to have more than 3 people at once. Would be really uncomfortable for you all. To accommodate 11 people, you needed to reserve 4 rooms. I believe you were informed of that at the moment you made the reservation, although I am going to send your comments to our management and we can improve the way of dealing with similar situations in the future. I hope you can return to our hotel and enjoy everything we have to offer, as we are known for our fine service and making every guest feel like a guest of honor. Sincerely,

$235 dollars and they charge for the internet???

Posted Apr 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
It is certainly a good hotel compare with awful and outrageously expensive hotels in a jungle city like Sao Paulo. But the fact that they charge for the internet is a true crime. OK to spend one night.

Good one night stay

Posted Apr 1, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is the hotel I stay for many years for one night when on a short business trip to Sao Paolo, coming from Canada and then leaving to Rio. It is conveniently located near Guraulhos International Airport, with free hotel shuttle pick up at the airport. I cannot remember waiting for more than 20-25 minutes for all these years. Check in was fast and efficient. Although I was late for breakfast which ends at 11:00 AM they let me have some juice, coffee, sandwich and cookies in the area next to the restaurant. Hotel is being slowly renovated, and certainly rooms (furniture, bathroom, bath tub...) are little bit dated but still clean and comfortable. Pool area is nice and quiet, although I did not have time to enjoy it. Wi-fi in the room costs approx. $14 for 24 hours and it's rather slow, Quality of the breakfast next morning was very good with lot of varieties and fresh fruits were especially good. Check out was fast and shuttle service to the airport runs every 20 minute in the morning...All in all very good choice, although somewhat expensive (>$300 for one night, breakfast included) for short stay when on business.

Very convenient to GRU airport. Good shuttle bus.

Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Staff and public facilities. Executive lounge was good.
Cons: Rooms are a bit basic
Location: I didn't leave the hotel grounds.
GRU airport is one of the worst airports -- I found a nearby haven when I had an 8 hour layover. Pleasant pool and garden. Good public spaces. I subsequently stayed at the Marriott for 3 nights and held some business meetings there. My experience was very satisfactory. Very helpful and friendly staff. A great escape from the oppressive GRU airport.
