Good valuePosted Feb 8, 2014
Pros: Central position close to all amenities. Good size rooms, and a traditional coaching hotel with a long history.
Cons: It will be greatly improved when the scaffolding is taken away and the exterior building work is complete.
Location: There is a very good brasserie on the river front about 600 meters from the hotel.
A traditional hotel in the centre of Macon that has comfortable rooms with normal modern conveniences. Guests need to check whether the garage is included in the price. In my case it was included, but the room was booked and paid for 4 months in advance.

Small space.Posted Oct 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel was well situated. We were just staying overnight so didn't have time to do much more than sleep there. The breakfast finished at 10am, it was a Saturday and so was the checkout time. The room was so small that the bed was set at an angle to the wall, meaning that one of us had to climb over the end to get out

Avoid room 101Posted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: Not much this time.
Cons: See above re room. Also private parking limited, so had to unload before leaving car in public parking this time.
Location: Macon pleasant, pedestrian area and river with lots of bars & restaurants.
Room 101 small, strange shape so difficult to get in/out of bed on one side. Room has recently been updated but bathroom has not. Compact bath needs re-enameling and sink badly cracked. Have stayed here before and been pleased with experience, not this time.

Centre of townPosted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: Breakfast and size of rooms
Cons: For price of hotel I found it good value for money with no improvements for that level
Location: Plenty of bars, restaurants, shopping and only a short walk to the river Soanne
Be aware if you want to use the hotel's parking it needs to be booked well in advance as limited spaces, parking outside the hotel is free until 08.00 but you will struggle to get a space. Staff were welcoming and accommodating and the breakfast was excellent with real freshly squeezed orange juice and a super coffee machine

Small rooms, reserve your parking.Posted Aug 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Small, clean room but air conditioning is only partially effective and could not cope with the 30 C temperatures. Fifty rooms but parking for only 15 cars so book your space directly with the hotel. The alternative is a secure underground car park by the river.

Stayed (again) for one night en-route Provence. Walk through shopping streets to river-front restaurants and cope with the small but clean room.

good stopover with reasonable restaurantPosted Oct 27, 2012 on Hotels.com
great to have a locked garage (additional payment) when travelling with a loaded car. The hotel had a pleasant restaurant with a rather eclectic menu. Close to shopping zone, few alternative restaurants (in October). Worth checking that ventilation system works - we were v hot during night as we couldnt get it working. Breakfast was good. overall a nicer experience than an Ibis or Novotel.

Good valuePosted Apr 4, 2012
Pros: location and price
Cons: smallish room
Location: faces the town square
Good value for the money and located on the main square of this lovely, small town, Macon. The staff were helpful but I found my room small if well designed. I didn't try their restaurant, which looked fine, because I found a traditional bouchon near the hotel.

"A Relaxing Stay"Posted Oct 4, 2010
This cute hotel was near most sites we enjoyed visiting. My husband and I would recommend this quiet, quaint hotel. Have a good time in Macon, France - we did!

Hotel de Bourgogne, MaconPosted Jul 14, 2010 on Hotels.com
The hotel was well placed for the railway station and the town centre, however it would have been more useful to us if we had had a car since most tourist activities were outwith Macon
