Okay, I guess

This hotel was good, until we ran into a problem with the room heat. The room was far too hot for sleeping, around 80. The heater was on and couldn't be shut off, as the heating and cooling system is not room specific, but is controlled throughout the hotel. Hotel staff had been friendly, and I was impressed, until this problem came up. We were blown off entirely when we brought up this issue. We were told the temperature couldn't change, and if we didn't like it we could open a (screenless) window or something. That actually cooled the room, but we were entertained intermittently throughout the night by a pair of large German Shepherds with good barking voices named George and Lula (according to the farmer's wife, who periodically joined them by yelling at them to be quiet). This was not audible with the window closed, but then it would get hot again. Other than that, the hotel itself was good. The rooms were very comfortable in every other respect, and extremely clean. In the morning the staff was very friendly and cordial again, inspite of the one person being downright rude about the temperature thing. This hotel is in a poor location for travelers without a car. It is a pretty good distance from downtown, but okay if you have your own transportation.
