We enjoyed our stay very much.

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: The cleanliness, breakfast area and food provided as well as the staff.
Cons: Directional signs as there were none coming off the expressway and at the entrance only a push in the ground metal sign (2x2).
Location: Close to most everything.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was excellent, well kept and clean. We especially liked having a micro wave and a small refrigerator as we stayed two days. Of exceptional note was the excellent breakfast served each morning. The best we have ever experienced over the years.

Sarasota Amish Country

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: It was very clean and the tub had a gripper in it and it did not collect water. There was a flat screen television with a lot of stations.
Cons: Correct the lighting. Sheers on the windows. Better quality breakfast. A bilingual staff.
Location: It was near Bahia Vista Rd. which had the Amish restaraunts, shops, deli's and Yoders village.
When we first arrived, the girl at the desk glared at my wife and wouldn't even give her time to get her ID out. In fact, we hardly got the door open on our room and the telephone was ringing. It was the girl at the front desk wanting to know if the room met our expectations. We told her we did not even get into the room yet. The hotel was very difficult to find. We had to ask two gas stations for directions to it. The address said Fruitville Rd. But when we went to the address it was not there. We found out later it was on a different street and it had a Fruitville address because it faced the road. After we opened the door; there was no entry light so it was very dark and not a good place for senior citizens. The bathroom light was very dim and dark. The windows lacked sheers so the curtains could not be opened because of the parking and highway. Consequently, there was no privacy and the room was dark. It needed better air conditioning and ventilation. As for breakfast, it was horrible. The line was out of juice, oatmeal and eggs. When I told the girl; she did not understand as she only spoke Spanish. The eggs tasted like some kind of instant eggs. The sausage did not have a fresh taste. It was very poor quality. The fruit was not appealing or tasty. In fact, on our last day we skipped breakfast and went to Mc Donalds. In the future, I am going to stick with Hampton Inn or Residence Inn.

Nice hotel close to I-75

Posted May 30, 2014
Pros: That it was clean and well maintained. The hotel staff was very friendly.
Cons: The rates could be lower.
Location: Close to I-75. About 13 miles to Siesta beach. Short drive to downtown and Ed Smith Stadium.
This was our second stay. My wife and I had a great time. The room was comfortable and clean. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

An okay room for a decent price

Posted May 22, 2014
I can't complain too much because I stayed in the room for a good rate, but it wasn't a perfect stay. The bathroom was a little dated (the toilet seat was worn and chipped) and there was black gunk growing in the shower and around the caulking along the shower floor but otherwise the floor, sinks, carpet, and beds were very clean. The appliances probably need to be replaced, as the iron didn't really iron out the wrinkles in my shirt and the hair dryer actually sucked my hair into its fans and ripped some of it out (ouch). The staff were polite the couple of times I spoke with them. My only real annoyances while staying here were that the walls were pretty thin, I could hear the tv to my neighbors room throughout the night, they have way too many tables crammed together during breakfast so you're constantly tripping over seats to get around them, and the sprinklers they have outside have some kind of fertilizer in them, there was a gross sulfur-smelling residue on my car after parking there overnight, so I would avoid parking anywhere near the grass there.

Adequate

Posted May 22, 2014
Pros: The location was very convenient to our itinerary with many stores and good restaurants nearby.
The room was clean and well kept. We did have to request an additional bath towel, as there were only 2 provided. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was satisfactory and I was pleased to see homemade oatmeal, which in all my world travels, have never seen. Oatmeal is my standard breakfast fare, so it was nice not to have to settle for instant!

well appointed hotel in line with many others.

Posted May 10, 2014
Pros: Quiet and in the trees though near the interstate.
Cons: Lighting in the bathroom made shaving difficult. Needs to be brighter.
Location: Limited eateries in the area. Five to ten miles to downtown Sarasota , three or four more to Lido Beach.
Similar to other moderate hotels in its price range, Free breakfast could be exactly the same as others, even supplied by the same vendor. Beds very good. I'd like to take it home. Decor of hotel a little Florida dreary but not much.

An older hotel but VERY clean

Posted May 4, 2014
This is an older hotel very close to Nathan Benderson Park. Although it is an older hotel, it is clear that the staff take great care to make it as clean and fresh as possible. There is a great free breakfast and the staff and amenities are welcome. For what you would spend on a generic room at any area hotel, you get a two room suite at AmericInn.
