OK hotel

Posted Nov 24, 2014
The hotel is being renovated. Some good staff but poor housekeeping. Stayed 2 weeks. Apparently housekeeping doesn't know how to use a vacuum cleaner nor how to count. Washcloths varied from 0 to 3. Add in an almost nightly party in the parking lot with various men standing around smoking a lot of noise.

Poor quality in Hospitality Industry.

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: Price was reasonable but not for the meagre service.
Days Inn Sarasota is hard to find even though it can be seen from Clark road. The access roads are without street signs and the hotel signage is non-existent. There could be signs directing drive to front door. The building needs some upgrades. The front desk and lobby were in the midst of a remodel so that can be excused. The hall carpet was faded and stained. Room doors were scared and the paint was chipped. The color scheme of purple, green and white was not very pleasing to the eye. The room was an ugly green color. The bathroom was small and had stains and scars in the shower. The complementary breakfast was meagre. I did not like the pre-cooked rubbery egg patties. The waffle machine could have better instructions and usage signs. There could have been a personnel problem because the front desk employee also had to attend to the breakfast room.

Close to Burger King

Posted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: Friendly welcome, breakfast. Comfortable room..Efficient air conditioning. C
Cons: Sheets, pillowcases, towels all very clean. Bed covers looked like they could do with a wash.
Location: Beaches. Ringling House and Museum. Marie Selby Gardens.
SatNav kept sending us on U turns near destination. Hotel is somewhat concealed behind Burger King.Good landmark though when returning at night. Friendly and efficient check in. Some refurbishing work going on in corridor but didn't interfere with our stay. Room well equipped with two queen size beds, tv, fridge, microwave, coffee makings. Free ice machine and vending machine at end of corridor. Laundry room. Breakfast included, adequate with hot drinks, cereals, yoghurt, fresh waffle maker, orange juice, various breads, toaster. Free parking adjacent.

Terrible

Posted Oct 23, 2014
Pros: It was close to the highway and the beach
Cons: every thing. remove it from your list!!!
This hotel had a decent score and a good name. It was TERRIBLE, they did not want to accept our expedia reservation and suggested we cancel it and just register with them (after waiting for 15 min for someone to show up at the desk). It had the feel of a flop house with hideous paint, dented doors, shredded carpet, and people smoking in the hall. Our ground floor room had only flimsy locks on the windows and no carpet. Breakfast was not worth the trip to the lobby, there was minimal amount of food set out and it was cold and or dry. We slept with one eye open and left at first light. Shame on Days inn for allowing use of the name!

Didn't like the fact that the spa closed at 9 pm. It was always full of people and could never get in. my stay was for 3 days.

Decent place

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Decent place to stay besides the loud people I had across the hall from my room. And one incident I left my sunglasses in the room went down stairs to check out realized I didn't have them. Went back upstairs to get them. Room door was open and they were gone. Asked housekeeper where they were and she told me the other housekeeper put them in the drawer so she could take them! All this happen in a matter of 10 minutes! Seriously what happen to honest people?

Great location!

We went to Sarasota for the first time and we loved it, the hotel staff and location was excellent, the breakfast was included but they served the same every day, they should have a variety of breakfast, like fruits, different types of eggs every day, other than that me and my family enjoyed our stay.
