Hotel under construction

Posted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the room looked nice due to the recent updating, kids eat free at the hotel, free Wi-Fi, free parking.
Cons: Wait until the construction is done before staying here.
Location: Beach across the street, St. Armand's has a great shopping center within walking distance of the hotel
Stayed June 2015 and the hotel was undergoing massive renovations. Wish I had known this before booking. There were drills and hammering going on during the day when I put my kids down for a nap - very annoying. The room itself was nice due to the recent updating. The hotel lobby and pool are still in need of renovations. Another thing that was not disclosed when I booked this hotel is that you have to walk across the street to go to the beach. I was disappointed that it was not located directly on the beach. Some of the positives were that kids eat free at the hotel restaurant and we were also allowed a late (1:00 pm) check-out, free-of-charge.

Pros: staff staff and location pool.....sunset view
Cons: maybe a little more on menu for dinner.......
Location: beach shops just a nice area
we had a great time. Staff could not be any better... rooftop sunset dinner great view and food. We did have problems with room. Hotel is redoing and water cut off but kind of funny. they supplied plenty of drinking water bottled and were so good about everything. Pool open and nice. Had to change rooms due to air in pipes from water being cut off but next room was fine.... We just laughed about it. Beach was across street. Good time for all. funny like I said but good. would go back in a heart beat.

Unlocked Door

Posted Apr 2, 2015 on Hotels
Bathroom needs work - behind toilet is in disrepair. Door to room also does not open/close easily. It gets stuck and is very difficult to shut tightly or open. Biggest issue is that when we came back from our day (after housekeeping had cleaned our room), the door to the room was open. It was not latched/locked. Most likely due to the comment above? I would hope that housekeeping would know better than to leave doors ajar. I was very thankful that I'd told my kids to bring all electronics with us to the swim meet and leave them in the car - they'd be safer there. Only thing we left in room was cosmetics/clothes.

Location, location, location

Pros: Location was perfect. Breakfast far exceeded our expectations. Pool was very nice. Laundry facility was greatly appreciated. Staff was terrific!
Cons: Some areas need to be updated and freshened up. They seem to be doing some work now but I'm not sure what areas are effected.
Location: Perfect location. Beach, St. Armand's Circle with excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. Selby Gardens, Mote Aquarium, Oriole's stadium
Magnificent Lido Beach is steps away from the hotel, St. Armand's Circle is a very short, pleasant walk, and many fun attractions are just a short ride away. So much to choose from to make it a wonderful vacation. Hotel is in the process of updating but there was no disturbance to our stay. Pool is very nice with a view of the beach. Complimentary breakfast was extremely well done and convenient. Staff was always friendly and helpful. On site laundry was also appreciated. Room was adequate in size and offered a perfect vantage point for spectacular sun sets. I would definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

Amazing Gulf View & Pristine Beach - Mediocre Room

Posted Mar 17, 2015 on Hotels
This hotel appears quite dated and under renovation. There were dozens of sofas and other boxes of furniture siting on their side making the lobby unaccessible. The check-in experience was curt from a young lady who made no eye contact and appeared irritated by questions. In contrast, the morning desk clerks were wonderfully warm, humorous, and informative regarding local attractions. The ocean view is AWESOME! The room was clean but oddly decorated with a mix of old and new items modern items. Hopefully, the renovations will bring this interior on par with the amazing location across fro the pristine beach and gulf breezes.
