Beautiful propertyPosted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: It is a lovely property in walking distance to shops and nice restaurants.
Cons: Room needed remodel.
Location: St. Armand's circle is in walking distance. Hotel does provide shuttle to circle. Lovely beach.
The property is lovely. The staff were professional and courteous. The rooms in the older building are in need of repair. The bathroom floor had cracked and loose tiles and the rug was worn through. Had a nice time and enjoyed the beach and pool area.

Hotel is bit outdated, but kept wellPosted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Location, local shuttle service, beach
Cons: Umbrellas included in the price. Air conditioner control could be better.
Location: the "Circle" is the place to eat and walk.
Hotel is nice, bit older, but OK. Fitness room re-notated, but extra elliptical would not hurt. Location is really nice, right on the beach and close to the shopping/eating area. Go to Fish and Fin, you will like it.

It is on the gulf beach.Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: It was on the gulf beach.
Cons: The property needs investment in its state and facilities.
Location: The beach and St. Armands are in walking distance. It is 10-15 minutes form downtown (shops and restaurant) and the Ringling Museum.
A very pricey property. The check-in folks were very friendly. Housekeeping was friendly. The restaurant and tiki bar staff were okay. The tiki bar did not have a good mix of drinks. We had the same 2 drinks every day. The property was clean and kept up, but was below standards for a resort with these prices. Eating on property was very expensive and the quality of the food was poor. It was worth walking to St. Armands and paying the high prices there for more and better food (which cost below the properties).

Beautiful location, awesome beach, nice staffPosted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: location, service, right on the beach, very friendly
Cons: some renovation needed, get a new bartender, spoiled my desire to party
Location: awesome beach, can walk forever! Town cute, nice diversity of shops. Beaches like Siesta are pretty too, but more crowded. Botanical Garden great!
Pro's - Beautiful beach, full of pretty shells, nice soft white sand, great sunset's, well manicured beach by staff, and you can walk forever!! Shannon the Manager is very accommodating and responsive, all staff from cleaning to desk people were very very sincerely nice except for one bartender. The view from the partial ocean room which we stayed in on the 4th floor faced North towards the gulf which was quite nice, even though it was also facing the parking lot and public beach lot, was quiet, but we do suggest being up on 4th floor. We were in the smaller building which has not been renovated but was still nice. Room had a kitchenette which was cool. Beds were comfy. Daily cleaning service was good. Is in a great location. The town is cute, nice shops. Con's - some small things that could be renovated - no fan in the bathroom. The front window did not open, would have been nice to hear the ocean - we had our door open a lot. Some paint chipping in the bathroom ceiling minor, the a/c was loud and in the wall by the front so when on you couldn't sit on deck in front of it as hot air came out. Fridge was loud. In the courtyard is a pretty waterfall, but the equipment is on the path to the pool so is loud walking by, kind of obtrusive. All these things could be fixed in renovation. Oh, and the tiki bar - was looking forward to that - the bartender was rude, so what if I didn't understand in advance the happy hour specials, dude had a bad attitude, didn't go back.

Great view - beautiful beachesPosted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: The kitchenette complete with full sized fridge.
Cons: Bathrooms need udpated.
Location: We enjoyed eating at the Old Salty Dog and Turtle's. We had ice cream at Olaf's. Our favorite breakfast spot was The Dolphin Cafe.
Our 5 night stay was perfection. We enjoyed the Tiki bar, pools, hot tubs, beach, beach chairs and gift shop, It was just the getaway we were looking for. Traveled with my husband, 16 year old daugther, 16 year old niece and another couple.

Close to shops and beachPosted Mar 27, 2015
Overpriced and old. No fans in restroom. TV quality poor. Internet hit and miss. Not a good value. Should be $100 per night place. Not $370 per night. Housekeeping sucked and I had to ask them to clean the room 3 or 4 times every day before they would do it. Place very dirty. Beds were doubles so you have no room to sleep. Pillows were half size. Really what is thqt cheapness about. Bathroom cabinet doors falling off. Shower very narrow. Ice bucket dirty again no real cleaning but at least the ice machine worked. For the good. Location is best on the key. Walking distance to st Armans Circle full of shops and food. Lido beach resort sits on the beach so that is great. Chairs are there so no carrying. Plenty of parking. Free shuttle til 1030 pm for you old folks that cant walk a mile each way to the Circle. Food at the pool area which feeds to the beach through a gate was very good. Service here was better than the housekeepers but still not closeto resort level. Closet hotel to the shopsa and they close pool hot tubs and beach hotel gate at 10pm. You can walk the beach at night through the main beach enterance right next door. AC worked great and so did the fan. Overall this is no Marriott town inn. This is not amodern breastfast included new facility. This place screams old florida hotel that got remodel to some degree.

Great hotel on a relatively uncrowded beachPosted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Tiki Bar, beach, lounge, cleanliness of room
Cons: Would like to see some more moderately priced entrees on the restaurants' menus. A/C unit was a bit loud at night. Would prefer queen beds over full.
Location: Hotel is located directly on a great walking beach. St. Armand's circle is a nearby area of upscale shops and restaurants that is fun to explore.
Clean and comfortable hotel on one of our favorite beaches. Enjoyed the Tiki Bar area for drinks and a casual meal. Excellent beach chairs for lounging during the day and watching the sunset in the evening. Try to catch a drink in the intimate upper floor lounge; the view is fantastic. Staff was helpful and friendly. In-house restaurants have gotten a bit pricey, but meal in the "secret garden" of the downstairs restaurant can be very romantic.

Nice and notPosted Mar 23, 2015
Half the hotel is old, needs updating, overlooks a parking lot with port a potty and trailers, tractor noise from the neighboring lot. The other half is upscale and newly redone. We were in the junky dirty half. The amenities, beach, shuttle to St. Armand's circle were fabulous. We suggest they clean the stairs, replace rotting molding, repurpose emply holes with grates where vending used to be.
