Nice Hotel with amazing views

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: The proximity to the beach, the sunsets, the food, and the great hospitality.
Cons: Quieter AC units.
My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and had an amazing time. We stayed in a deluxe King room and it had everything we needed, a nice size fridge, microwave, a coffee maker and complimentary bottles of water and popcorn. It was bigger than most hotel rooms we've stayed in. But I think the best part of it all was the staff. Everyone from the people at the front desk, to housekeeping, to the servers at the bar and restaurant, everyone was so nice and helpful. They all said hello even if they were just passing you in the halls. The one downside was the air conditioner in the room. It rattled quite a bit and made it difficult to sleep. Still, it was well worth the money. If you never wanted to leave the grounds you wouldn't have to because everything is right there. It was a perfect vacation spot.

Wedding anniversary

The overall hotel stay was good. The rate was overpriced and didn't coincide with what we received. It was not a good value for the money

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at the Lido Beach Resort. I am sorry you did not feel you received a good value. I highly recommend checking our rates during the summer as prices drop considerably during this period.

Would not allow late checkout. Very snippy about it.

Thank you for your comments. I am very sorry if anyone was not respectful regarding your request for a late checkout. We certainly attempt to honor every guest request, however, late checkouts can be challenging based on how busy the hotel is at the time. Your request certainly should have been addressed in a professional manner.

Value for money in good beach location

Posted Mar 19, 2014
Pros: Location, bar service and poolside bar. Shuttle bus to the local shops and restaurant.
Cons: Breakfast service. Personally I don't like rooms with a kitchen integrated, but I guess that it knows its market and is poular with its clientele.
Location: From here Sarasota is very easy to get around, with 12 miles of beach, golf courses close by and plenty attractions.
The hotel is well sited for the beach, and has a very good pool. It is also close to St Armands Square which has good shops and great restaurants, It is an easy 10 minute walk or a 2 minute free shuttle ride provided by the hotel. We liked the upstairs bar, and the food in that bar/restaurant is very good and fairly priced. The place feels a little utilitarian and the clientele seemed a good mix of blue and white collar American. It was very good value for money, though not a palace.

I'd stay again

Stayed here when in town for a conference. The conference was at the Hyatt Regency but I wanted to stay somewhere that seemed more "vacationy" - especially since I was getting away from this year's terrible DC winter! A friend came with me and we had a 2 double bed suite in the lower building -3rd floor. It had views of the beach and the sunsets were great. Yes, the only place to enjoy it was from the public walkway (either standing at the railing or from two chairs outside each room). Not the most private area but fine for a quick glass of wine before getting changed for the night. The room was pretty dated but clean with plenty of space. We had a little kitchen with basic stuff. I'll admit here that I don't usually ask for too much more from hotel rooms - basically a place to shower and sleep. This fit the bill. Pool area was nice with several hot tubs - I like a place with an adult only section. The bar and wait staff were attentive. Didn't spend a lot of time on the beach because of conference and other activities. The front desk staff were always pleasant. Susan, the concierge, helped my friend almost every day with faxing and printing (she was in the middle if buying a new condo). The hotel was only a short walk to St. Armand's circle which was great. It was also a nice walk across the bridge along the Ringling causeway to my conference (downtown Sarasota) although the bus system was verrrry easy from right in front if the hotel. Overall, I enjoyed the stay.

Nice hotel.

We were in the South Tower 9th floor great view of beach/Gulf of Mexico. A few tiles on bathroom floor were cracked, not hazardous in any way, just not perfect looking, but very clean. Molding around shower stall cracked, could use cosmetic touch up, but not too bad. King size bed very comfortable. Nice approx. 10 x 4 foot deck with chairs and small table, great to view sunset. Junior suite included full size refrigerator , small dishwasher ,cupboards with wine glasses, drinking gasses, pot and pans if needed. Everything very clean. Breakfast in Lido Cafe was nice, good menu, food was delicious and pleasant , fast, servers. Hotel Shuttle van to near by St. Armens Circle was convenient for fun shopping and restaurants. Two heated pools, 3 hot tubs looked in older condition. Beautiful beach!

A great time at Lido Beach

Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: The beach, the adults only pool, the convenience.
Location: close to St. Armand's Circle. The Circus Museum was fascinating.
Our stay at Lido Beach was great! The hotel is not too big, had good staff, had comfortable rooms, and best of all is right on the beach, a very nice beach too. It is very convenient - St. Armand's Circle a short drive, 15 minutes to the airport, and 15 minutes to downtown Sarasota. The hotel restaurant was also surprisingly good and had a super view. And 2 pools - one for adults only - was a real plus.

Stay in the tower

Posted Feb 15, 2014
Pros: pool area, location, outside bar area
Cons: rooms need some TLC, repair
checked in 2/7/13. Paid a pretty high price because it is season. When we arrived at our room, I was shocked! We were put in the older section of the hotel. It truly looked like a budget hotel. Very dated & not comfortable at all. I called to ask if there was another room that was a bit nicer. We moved to the newer tower & paid a small amount extra to upgrade. What a big difference. We were now in a much more updated, larger room with a beach front view & large balcony. It was like checking in a new hotel. So, my recommendation is to stay in the larger tower…or make sure you are paying budget pricing for the other building.
