Close to the beachPosted Aug 7, 2014
There was a flesh eating bacteria in the ocean which kept us from swimming, but there is plenty of other things to do.

We are so glad that you had such a great time and yes there are a lot of things to do in the area. I do want to make sure that you and others are aware that the bacteria that you mentioned in your comment never effected Anna Maria Island. Mote Marine, a world renowned Aquarium and microbiology site diligently monitors our waters three times a day in multiple locations and notifies county officials if there are any health issues. Although the news reported an incident that involved someone in a compromised health state, at a beach significantly South of Anna Maria, the water there was tested and found not to be a safety issue.

Right across from their private beach.Posted May 6, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness is the important to me
Cons: Nothing, but the weather, it rained the two days we were there
Location: Hop and a skip from the beach, miniature golf, ice cream shop, souvenir, and many other shops to explore.
We had a studio room with 1 double bed and a double murphy bed. You could tell that this room was an original to the motel, but it was extremely clean and comfortable. There were 2 adults and 2 children. The staff was friendly, courteous and very helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel with private beachPosted May 3, 2014
Pros: Private beach, good restaurants and bars within walking distance. Room had a small refrigerator and microwave. Heated swimming pool on premises.
Cons: The bathroom in our unit was very small, a very large person would have difficulties. The newer rooms looked to be larger.
Location: Resort on the main road, easy access to really good food and drink places. Private beach directly across the road with jet ski and sailboat rentals.
Went to Anna Maria Island for a destination wedding. Chose the Silver Surf Resort for its location and its beach. The room was very clean and recently renovated. The bathroom was small and could only handle one person at a time but was okay for our use. Having access to a private beach was really a plus and the resort was in walking distance to some really good restaurants. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Had an enjoyable time.

Close to the beach.Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Close to the beach. Reasonably priced.
Cons: Better breakfast options.
Nice location. Close to beach, easy access to many restaurants and shops. Nice staff. "Continental" Breakfast was very sparse-better plan would be to go out to a restaurant.

Wonderful StayPosted Apr 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay here. It is a very well maintained older hotel. Staff was very friendly. Gave us beach towels and beach toys to use during our stay. Would definitely stay there again.

Great place to stay close to everythingPosted Apr 21, 2014
We went on a last minute vacation for 4 days. Booked this hotel and had a great time . Room was very cute and clean. Location was great! Walked everywhere, rented a golf cart and toured the island. We have stayed at Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and now Bradenton Beach . All are fantastic, favourite place in Florida!

We are thrilled that you had such a good time at our hotel. Next time consider doing a segway tour of the island or viewing it by the free trolley that runs up and down the island from 7am to 10pm!

A Gulf View Secret GetawayPosted Apr 4, 2014
Pros: We enjoyed the small town atmosphere surrounding this hotel. Angie, her office staff and maids were outstanding. The private beach access was great.
Cons: Well, the amount of closet space should be more. Instead of the hideaway bed, we would have preferred an adequate closet and drawers for clothes .
Location: Although it is located across a small street from the private beach, the location was still gulf view. Publix grocery store was about two miles away
From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out, this little hideaway had much to offer. We were treated with Floridian hospitality by manager Angie and her office staff. The daily maids who service our room were friendly and efficient. Our full size efficiency room was nicely appointed for two people. The pool was located right down the walkway from our room. In the morning we enjoyed an extended continental breakfast which we could eat outside at the cafe area looking directly across to the emerald waters of Mexico, or we could eat breakfast in our full size kitchen. We were directly across the street from the beach, but the view of the gulf was still in sight. For a small condo type hotel it was more a high three star venue. We had a marvelous time enjoying our room, the pool, the morning breakfasts, the entire staff and the across the small street access to our private beach with supplied towels and chaise lounges. Next time we'll take advantage of the tiki huts and the on beach private massage tent. The sunsets were incredible and so close to view. It was a magnificent vacation getaway. We would return any day and stay longer. We appreciate the intimate contact of a small facility with efficient staff. The location was absolutely priceless. We even went to a preseason baseball game of our Pirates verses the Yankees. The huge near by flea market with over 975 booths was impressive. Thumbs up and many thanks for an enjoyable getaway.

Beautiful beachPosted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Close to beach, great staff, relaxed atmosphere
Cons: Bathroom too small, need a working plug. Mattress too soft
Location: Great location next to beach. Went to spring training, Ringling estate, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, MOTE Aquarium and more.
Great holiday even though the weather was cloudy and rainy.
