Nicely located near the locks, it is possible to hear and see ships (from some rooms). Also close to several restaurants and shops.

Great location and nice to see some upgrades. Breakfast was disappointing, so was the pool being closed. The fitness room is two treadmills and I am pretty sure one is busted.

I enjoyed the stay, it is an older hotel of 80 plus years and very well maintained. The only problem I had is that a pool and hot tub are advertised, but has not been available for the past few years with no intention of reopening.

Will definitely stay here again
Very clean and comfortable. Pool was under renovation but it wasn't a big deal to us that it wasn't available. Love the location by the Locks. Front desk staff friendly and helpful.

Clean but outdated. Too few outlets in the room (four that I found, including the bathroom) and two were loose and didn’t hold the plugs in. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast is limited, but adequate.

Fire alarm went off at 2 am. It was a false alarm but they did not send out a notice or anything and people started to evacuate only to find out it was false. They should have something in place to notify people

Had High Hopes, it’s a great looking place: This was our Wedding Anniversary stay: Door barely latched, Deadbolt didn’t work at all, called front desk, nobody to fix it. Top loop safety latch did work. Neither TV worked, called front desk, busy, lady came up after an hour and fixed one of them. King bed is literally 3 feet high (not exaggerating, crazy. Not an easy climb for seniors. Bathroom door unlatches with turn and a shove, loud enough to wake someone sleeping. But it does have a French door to muffle the sound. Bonus Neither Hair Dryers work. Called front desk, no replacement hair dryers. Continental breakfast: Breakfast bars, water, yogurt & coffee (not really Breakfast). We had a real breakfast across the street. The nice maintenance fellow did show up a few minutes before we checked out, filing the door jamb so the latches would actually work. Room was well over $200. The stay was disappointing.

Nice property near the Soo Locks. Air conditioner was not working neither was the hair dryer. Told the staff. Staff lowered the temperature of the thermostat but that was not the problem. Cold air was not blowing out.

A great "grand dame" of a place right on the Soo Locks. Nice rooms and great staff! Prices very good through Travelocity! The property is pet friendly and the fee for pets is quite reasonable! Highly recommend this hotel!

We enjoyed the location, it was close to downtown. The staff was mostly friendly on our 4 night stay. We had a hard time getting room necessities such as towels and toilet paper. We asked so many times for toilet paper we went to Meijer and bought a few rolls. Every time we asked for towels we were told they were in the dryer. The breakfast was ok but 3 mornings we had to ask for coffee since it was empty. It's a beautiful and historic hotel undergoing renovation. It would've been nice if a pool was not advertised due to being close for remodel. The shuttle is not provided by the hotel only by the Kewadin Casino.
