A great place to stay!

Posted Apr 30, 2015
Pros: The staff, the atmosphere, closeness to everything.
Cons: Hard to get to the rooms for someone who had had knee replacement surgery! An elevator would've been nice.
Location: The river road area, all of the historical district, the trolley tours.
This was a great hotel to stay, very quaint, and nicely located to get to important places in Savannah. The staff was great and the rooms were spacious and modern. All in all a great place to stay!

Close to the sites. Comfortable, charming and would go there again. The bed in our room was very high, bring step stool.

Very quaint, comfortable bed, nice redone bathroom. If you are unable to carry your luggage up stairs, insist on a 1st floor room.

Beautiful room

Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: The room
Cons: Breakfast did not include any protein.
Location: Walking distance to riverfront and city market.
Room great. Communication could have been better. We returned from an outing to find a broken window with cardboard. Looked like a break-in. Had to go to the office to get information.

Great Inn easy to get to most anywhere

Posted Apr 23, 2015
Pros: Updated bath facilities, and on site parking within the historic district.
Location: Bus tours, house tours, fine dinning throughout the city, bring comfortable shoes.
Check in was fast & simple. We were in the Guest House, and the staff helped us with our luggage. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal and even received a couple of free drinks. The room was beautiful, and we enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub & steam shower. We would certainly stay here on our next visit to Savannah.

Great for how old it is

Posted Apr 18, 2015
Pros: The charm and experience of an old south inn
Cons: i wouldn't change much. you have to understand that it is old, but very pleasant
Location: the convenience of the location was fantastic. An easy walk to the river, the downtown, and the historic districts
The hotel was great and the staff was even greater. It's an older hotel. 1790. So some of the more modern amenities were not there. But, that wasn't a big deal to us because what it lacked in modern amenities it made up for with charm

Very nice Inn centrally located

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: The location, friendliness of the staff and the food.
Cons: The room door was a little hard to get into until you realized you had to pull it forward to turn the skeleton key all the way.
Location: The location was fantastic, a quick 5 minute walk to the River walk. Lots of places to visit nearby.
We just got home from an excellent 4 days at the 17 Hundred 90. Upon entering the Inn we were greeted with big smiling faces and checked in without a hitch. Since we we're staying in room 311 (absolutely stunning) which is located in the guesthouse, the staff was kind enough to walk me to the entrance so there was no chance of getting turned around. We did not take advantage of the maid service while we we're there, but we did meet her and she was absolutely lovely. Southern hospitality is on full display at this Inn. The room was very clean, and there we're plenty of extra pillows and blankets provided if you needed them. The only thing I would caution is that if you have a hard time with stairs the guesthouse might not be the best place to stay since there's 2 flights to get to the bedroom. The continental breakfast was your typical fare and was a perfect way to start the morning. We ate at the restaurant on our last night and it was scrumptious, while we never had a bad meal in Savannah, the salmon with crab was probably my favorite. The Inn is very centrally located in the Historic district, we walked just about everywhere and never once felt uncomfortable. We will definitely be making a return appearance the next time we are in Savannah.

Hotel staff knowledgable and friendly. Great continental breakfast.. We stayed in guest house. It's old understandable however it really needs major cleaning and new bedding supplies. For the price you really expect much more.o Convenient walking to all areas.
