“Great Little Gem”
We stayed in the guest house which is a separate property from the main Inn and Restaurant. The only drawback is that we did not have immediate access to amenities to the hotel...free wifi, ice machine. The room/floor was nice, the sitting area could have a couch vs. two chairs... Property owners are EXTREMELY NICE and accomodating.
“Great Historic Hotel!”
We stayed over a long weekend for our first anniversary. We were plesantly surprised with the awesome views from our second floor room. We were also very happy with the central location to shopping, restaurants, and easy walks around Savannah! The staff was well educated with the history of the building and surrounding areas. They were all so very nice and accomadating. The continental breakfast was delightful- light with muffins, pastries, coffee, and fresh fruit! Perfect start for the long walks we went on through the city during the day. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was perfectly romantic. We pretty much had the place to ourselves on a Sunday night, listening to great live piano music . Would definately stay at the Seventeen Hundred Ninety Inn & Restaurant again!
“Great location and nice antiques”
Just loved it! Great history! Friendly staff. Has a casual bar and more formal dining room. Rooms are decorated in antique furniture. Priced economically. Parking is free but not too much of it. Coffeemaker in room and TV with free Wifi. Perhaps, you might see a ghost or two since the hotel is reputed to be haunted. Word of caution --stairs and no elevators. Location is great and convenient to the historical district. Waterfront is only a few blocks away. The only complaint is that the breakfast would have been better with some fresh fruit. It was a minimal continental style breakfast.
“Great stay at 1790.”
We stayed at 1790 three nights and have only wonderful memories. Everything was perfect. The room was clean and comfortable, the inn was neat and well maintained, and the city--well, the city was fantastic. The staff we met were helpful with suggestions for sightseeing and always greeted us with a smile. We have nothing but praise for the 1790, you will not regret staying there.
“Adorable inn for those seeking something different”
Adorable inn for those seeking something different. The owners are wonderful and have kept the integrity of the historic landmark. I enjoyed their conversation at the free breakfast about the "ghost" stories and the history of the building. For those slightly hesitant about staying in the haunted inn, they have a guest house across the street that has no reported "hauntings." Room 303 was magnificent, and even had a steam shower. It felt like much more than we had a paid for. Location was also great. We could walk everywhere and never felt unsafe in the area.
“Great place for couples”
We had a wonderful time in Savannah and the 17 hundred 90 Inn was fantastic. The room with fireplace, four poster bed, antique furniture and jet tub, was romantic as well as comfortable. The staff members were superb. We will make this our place to stay whenever we are in town.
“Our one-day visit at Savannah”
Our stay at the hotel was beyond our expectation. Here are the very pleasing factors: 1.Historical building; 2.Antique furniture; 3.Amazing "ghost" stories; 4.Wonderful staff; 5.Central location - convenient for walking around downtown; and 6.Delightful "light" breakfast.
“Comfortable & Historical”
I enjoyed the proximity for city attractions. I was in Savannah to settle my daughter in at SCAD. This hotel felt less like a hotel and more like a reprieve from the busyness of our days.
“What a place to eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
This Inn has one of the finest eating establishments. The food is wonderful. Live piano playing every night and a wonderful feeling. The room we stayed in was beautiful right in the heart of historic Savannah. Its haunted too booth. I really enjoyed my stay and will return for another one soon I hope.
“A Great Place to Get Away”
I really enjoyed this inn. The location was super and the staff at both the inn and the restaurant/bar were very friendly and helpful.
