“The place to stay”

A great deal! Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was very helpful. The hotel is conveniently located to the downtown historic district and if you don't want to drive you can take advantage of the hotel's shuttle service. If you want to do the trolley tour (with on/off privileges) you can buy your tickets at the hotel -- and get picked up by the trolley there at the hotel. We would definitely stay there again.

“It was ok - would have rather been in walking distance to main attractions”

i would only recommend if looking for a inexpensive hotel. while not unsatisfied with the room, this location was off the beaten path and I felt like I was in the "hood". not much around except for the industrial side.

Room was clean, comfortable and well kept. Staff was pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast was nothing to brag about.

We stayed at this hotel for the rock and roll marathon in Savannah. The hotel had made special arrangements to shuttles the runners and families downtown to the starting line. The are a family managed hotel and I was Very impressed with the special event planning. They even made a special trip to transport my parents who were watching our 8 month old during out run. They made special arrangements to make sure when they picked us up that his car seat was already in the van. The location is near the port so occassionally you could hear a train or large boat horn, but it was not too bad. Breakfast was okay-nothing too special: fresh fruit, hard boil eggs, waffles, yogurts, cereal etc. very close to downtown and they provided shuttle to and from.

Nice hotel. Great customer service. Surrounding area isn't the best, but the hotel feels isolated and safe.

The hotel was clean and modern. The staff was generally friendly. The free breakfast offered hot and cold items. The beds are comfortable. There is a Food Lion grocery store about a 5 minute walk away is you need to buy anything. The room has a refrig and microwave. The shuttle to the downtown historic district was convenient and ran on schedule. The outside pool area/hot tub was nice and was landscaped for privacy. The only negatives were that there was occasionally a smell from a paper mill nearby, but we also smelled the same smell in downtown Savannah. The neighborhood that the hotel is in a more industrial area, but we don't do late night walking outside hotels so that wasn't really a factor. We were upset that the airport shuttle only runs from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm, which was not mentioned when we booked our trip through expedia. It does mention this on the Baymont website, so this is not really the hotels fault. The cab fare to and from the airport is approx. $20. Overall, it was a great experience and I would stay again.

I recommend this hotel to friends and family only if you are not one of those people that do not have to be in the heart of town and just want a cheap place to stay a couple nights. This hotel is three miles from Savannah. The manager offers free transportation to town every two hours beginning at 10 AM. There are no restaurants near this hotel. It is not in the best area of Garden City, GA. Actually it is across from railroad tracks.
