Nice hotel

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Hotel was neat and staff were excellent. The only things I think need improvement are: Pillows not comfortable, need to be replaced Mattress also needs replacing and comforter too heavy, not soft. The dust ruffle did not fit the bed, too big and my roommate and I nearly tripped over excess. Sink in bathroom had a crack in it. Our visit to Savannah was good and we will be back.

Good location, needs updates

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: See above.
Cons: The shower and bathroom needs maintenance and updates. The shower had paneling to cover up the wall, gunk along the seam and the ceiling tiles dirty.
Location: Good location. Close to restaurants and stores!
Great breakfast! Best selection we've had at a hotel. Comfortable beds, couch and chairs. Nice people behind the desk!

Fine if you don't want breakfast

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Coffee was good, room was decent
Cons: Breakfast
The room and hotel itself were fine. I was moving my son in to school and didn't have a lot of time so the fact that breakfast was included was nice. The only problem was that the breakfast was awful. The "fresh fruit" was frozen, both days. Didn't even have yogurt, and the scrambled "eggs" I had to spit out. I'm not really sure what they were. We had to go find something to eat in the middle of our shopping with minimal time. If you don't care about breakfast included, hotel is ok.

Roof work

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Time we pulled up we saw workers everywhere (on the roof, on the ground on ladders). I mentioned something about it to the front desk clerk and she said not to worry about it that they usually leave by 5. Well we were put on the top floor so ALL we could hear was the hammering and walking back and forth and hollering. It was very annoying!! We had a wedding to go to so we didn't stay but about an hour and a half and then left. They were gone when we got back about 9. The next morning@8:30 we were awaken by the loud hammering, looked out our window to shingles flying past or window down into the DUMPSTER below:( This was NOT what I expected from the Country Inn and Suites. If all of that wasn't going on it probably would have been ok! I know that they have to stay up and running during things like this but DONT put me on the TOP floor with roofing going on with a family of 4 and think we will enjoy our stay !!VERY disappointed this time around. It suited our needs for a place to lay our head for the wedding, but WAS NOT very pleasurable:(

Dear Tracie, Please accept our sincre apology for the roofing issue that occured during your stay. The roofers had been instructed not to begin work until noon, but we discovered that this company did not follow the instructions given and sincerely apologize that our guests were disturbed. Sincerely, Barbara Awad Director of Sales

Ok for a night

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: The breakfast was good and that area was clean.
Cons: Update the rooms.
Location: Only about 10 miles from Savannah River Front which was nice.
Hotel was OK. Clean enough, comfortable enough, but not really nice. It was just outdated and old. Tub was cracked and it just smelled old. Bathroom door didn't stay shut. A/C was old and loud. Staff was nice and answered questions if asked. The breakfast in the morning was satisfactory and that area was clean. Not much parking. They were working on the roof so I had to listen to people banging hammers on the roof and people shouting to each other. I had a view of a construction dumpster. I was awoken at 5:00am by trumpets playing Revelry at the near by Hunter Army post.

Cheap

Staff is very nice. Room was clean but very run down. Hotel was having roof work done and staff was quick to respond when roofers were too noisy.

My Father was having surgery at nearby hospital.

Pros: Free breakfast
Cons: Musty smell, better cleaning service
Location: Local shopping
The room smelled damp and musty and you could see evidence of previous leaks everywhere. In fact, while we were there, the ceiling in the lobby area was being removed (big mess). The cleaning service was never in the room before 1pm, so after leaving the room early to go to the hospital and then come back for lunch, we would be interrupted by the maid. The cleaning service was not very good or they were leaving a mess themselves. Every night we would find eaten sunflower seed all over the floor near the beds! The staff seemed non-existent at times. Most times whenever walking into the lobby, there was nobody at desk. The gym was just ok.....2 treadmills and an elliptical. There was also a multi-purpose weight machine. The free breakfast was the best part of the experience!
