beautiful historic small hotel

Posted Apr 4, 2014
Cons: We were shocked that housekeeping would give us a ratty, ripped up bathmat the 2nd day we were there. As noted above, the breakfast room is dark and
Location: Walking by the river is nice, especially at night. Hanging out at any of the beautiful squares is better. Fried oysters at Lady and Sons.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel. It is beautiful. The staff at the front desk were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The turndown service was great: they closed the curtains and left a light on for us. The cleaning staff left alot to be desired, on the 3rd floor anyway. And the breakfast room in the basement was very unpleasant feeling to both my husband and myself. Most days we walked up to J Christopher's- great place. Overall we like this hotel especially for being in such a nice location right downtown. w

Granddaughter's Spring Break with Grandparents

Posted Apr 4, 2014
Pros: Location, decor, very clean, nice staff, beautiful room, yummy breakfast and will definitely return.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Location is the best. Right in the historic district. Very close to restaurants and shops. Old Savannah Tours picks you up at the hotel.
Old historic warehouse converted into an adorable hotel. Beautiful rooms that were clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Staff very nice and helpful. Yummy, gigantic breakfast that we all enjoyed. Our granddaughter loved the room. It was a short sweet visit to Savannah. Location of hotel couldn't have been better. Very close to restaurants and shops. Strongly suggest a dinner at Vic's one night. Top off your stay with taking one of the Old Savannah Tours-the best.

Great stopover

Posted Apr 3, 2014
Pros: Location, ambiance
Cons: Floors squeak a lot.
Location: Savannah is an amazing art & architecture city. Great for walking, appreciating the natural beauty and good food.
Stayed on our way home from Florida. The hotel staff was great from helping with luggage, parking, and getting us to their happy hour! They also got us quickly to a trolley tour the next day & extended our checkout time when the tour ran over. Happy Pennsylvanians.

Perfect and charming

Pros: Location, home like charm
Location: all of historic Savannah
A wonderful and historic inn, close to everything but still quite and peaceful. The Inn Keepers (saw 4 different ones) were the best, always warm friendly and eager to help us out with anything we could throw there way. Rooms were always clean and homey, just the pillows were too soft, but we should have asked, and my guess they would have corrected no questions asked. Just a wonderful place to stay..........if you want personal and home style service, this is it.......great job and many thanks to the staff at the Inn.........

Anniversary weekend with St Patty day flare!

Posted Mar 17, 2014
We loved the location on Bay St right near River Dr. The staff was so down home Southern friendly and so polite. Free bottled water at desk, breakfast was nice and wine and cheese in the evening. Parking can be tricky depending on how busy. Best to park and walk or trolley around town. The St Patrick's Day fun all weekend was hilarious and a good time. The room was so quaint clean and very charming. We can't wait to come back and we will definitely stay here at the East Bay Inn again!!!!!

Comfort in Historic Savannah

Posted Mar 3, 2014
The beginning of our stay was a bit "iffy." The front desk clerk, a male, wasn't overly helpful about the unloading situation that existed on a busy Friday, late afternoon. The remainder of the staff we encountered during our stay were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, especially Sheila! After check-in, once we were settled in our quaint room, we began to relax and enjoy that it possessed an interior brick wall and period furnishings. I wish the room had been cleaner; this actually surprised me. It didn't appear that the blinds covering the large window had been cleaned in a "long" time as there was a thick layer of dust/dirt covering them and the room's woodwork. The bathroom floor was not clean, at all, around the corners--rather disconcerting. The wine/cheese in the evenings was very welcome after a long day, and the staff there, Gavin, was a delight. Breakfast, both mornings, was delicious and a surprise since the Inn information had indicated only continental fare would be served. Instead, we were treated to eggs, sausage, biscuits, muffins, fruit, yogurt, etc., We thoroughly enjoyed this bountiful beginning to our days spent in Savannah. The location of the Inn is perfect -- you're within walking distance of just about any place you care to visit. We would definitely return to the Bay Street Inn, but I would hope that before we do, they pay "much" more attention to the cleanliness of the rooms.

Great Location

We enjoyed the friendly staff who gave great recommendations on things to do and places to eat. The walls were a little thin and there is a resident ghost, but the hotel's charm outweighed those things.
