Traditiona hotel in heart of the old quarter

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Terrific location a walk to everything-delightful welcome wine & savouries in the early evening, a great way to meet guests which I did.
Cons: Casual attitude from 2 reception staff. One let a lady carry a heavy case from the street saying he'd be with her when finished on the computer!
Location: Right in the heart of the old quarter in a beautiful tree lined street-a walk to all the sights.
Fabulous welcome from older lady and young girl staff member when I arrived later in the evening. Suitcase whisked away and was shown the delightful sitting room to partake of dessert since I had not eaten that evening. Was in the old part of the hotel which was comfortable and away from the courtyard where b'fast was served every day which I was delighted about since I had asked for a quiet room.

Romantic B&B on a lovely street in Savannah...

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Location: Very close to all attractions, visitors center, river street, etc. Perfect location!
From the moment we walked through the doors, we were treated with care and warmth. The staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The room was slightly on the smaller side than we're used to, but the charm of the inn made up for a few short comings. My husband and I stayed in a garden room overlooking tranquil fountains and a peaceful courtyard. Breakfast was served timely each morning, however, the meal was similar to a Holiday Inn or standard hotel, nothing special. The cook greeted us and was very nice, but the food just didn't make the cut and was very heavy on butter/grease. The afternoon wine & cheese in the great room was delightful, as was speaking to numerous couples from all over the country. We will be back, but I hope a few details such as the breakfast and upkeep of the guest use refrigerator improves.

Very nice stay. Staff went out of their way to help my wife with much needed bug spray.

Nice hotel in historic section of Savannah.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was more like a bed and breakfast. Supplied breakfast was very good with a variety of food choices. Evening desert was also provided in the parlour. Easy and short walk to all the historic section of Savannah.

Eliza Thompson House

From the first moment we stepped through the door we were attended to by the very gracious staff. The location is excellent in the old part of town, near historic parks and the market.

Historic, Convenient and SO Relaxing

Posted Jun 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
My husband and I traveled to Savannah with another couple over Memorial Day weekend and truly enjoyed our stay. This was a wonderful value for the price charged---the inn was historic and located in a lovely historic neighborhood, within convenient walking distance of the charming squares and all the sights! Afternoon tea (a wonderful spread!), evening coffee and dessert (delicious!), and morning breakfast were all included in the price of our stay! And let me just say that the private garden courtyard was a calm and peaceful location to eat the wonderful provisions or just sit and read a book. We loved the Eliza Thompson House!

Nice enough.

Very convenient downtown location in a beautiful old building, but the room was tired. Clean, but tired. Stained carpet, and rickety furnishings. I wish the staff had been more informed and informative about the history of the building.
