Convenient

Posted Jul 22, 2014
I picked this hotel for price and it was well worth it . The people at front desk checked us in early and was able to provide maps of savannah, with places to visit and eat. All though it was about a 15 minute drive to historic district and river front, going down abercorn was worth it. Beautiful Moss covered trees line the street. There are plenty of quick convenient places to eat, shop within walking distance of the hotel as well.

Great for price

We actually didn't stay at the midtown location. Before we checked in, we received a call saying we are selected to be upgraded to the La Quinta Southside location, which is down the street. It was probably due to being overbooked for the weekend. We enjoyed our stay at the Southside location. Hotel was clean and staff was nice. Great complimentary breakfast!

Great central location to everything!

I would rate this hotel very good. The only problem is the parking spaces. You drive anything bigger than a Mini Cooper you are screwed. Whoever laid out the parking lot should be castrated!

Clean and comfortable

Pros: Location and a quiet air conditioner.
Cons: More hooks to hang wet towells
Location: The hotel is located on Abercorn st. Every possible resturant is located on Abercorn St.
Arrived early and was offered a room anyway, however I elected to take my tour of old town and come back after 3:00 pm.

Inadequate Provision for number of Guests

Posted Jun 25, 2014
We stayed at a number of hotels on our recent trip to USA and this is the only one to which we would not return. The promised wi-fi provision was a recurring problem. The signal was strong but the system prevented connection, even in the lobby area. We spent an hour and a quarter getting guidance from the front desk and tech help, with no lasting connection. The second day was just as bad. Overseas tourists need wi fi to get information about local sites and restaurants and to plan ahead. We do not want to waste hours of a precious holiday struggling with a faulty system. Then there was the breakfast problem. This hotel was full and the seating and breakfast arrangement was inadequate for the numbers of guests. Much of the food on offer required either toasting or the making of waffles, which would have been fine if fewer people had wanted breakfast. Both toasting and waffle making require time and queues formed at the few machines, The situation was aggravated by the concentration of guests looking to breakfast at much the same time, prior to the departure of the hotel bus tours of Savannah. The staff were incredibly helpful but the fact remained that there were not enough tables and chairs and there was no where to sit. We have stayed at some excellent La Quinta hotels in the past, but this was not up to standard.

Smoky room

Posted Jun 22, 2014
The hotel was extremely busy which I guess was good. The non smoking room smelled of smoke and the towels in the bathroom appeared to be unclean.
