Opulent Wedding EveningPosted Oct 6, 2014
My wife and I stayed at the Mansion for our wedding night. I can say without reservation that this is one of the top 5 hotels that I have EVER stayed in. From the well appointed room, to the amenities and friendly and helpful staff, this hotel is first class.

Savannah Jazz FestivalPosted Oct 2, 2014
Cons: Pool and guest parking
Location: Forsyth Park is directly across the street so we were able to enjoy the Savannah Jazz Festival this weekend. Waterfront is an easy 10 minute ride.
Purchased a Deluxe Room which included breakfast. Room was satisfactory but the $30.00 stipend for breakfast wasn't sufficient to cover the cost of breakfast for three of us. The breakfast was just OK and each item including coffee, juice, etc was a la carte. Stayed over a weekend and there seemed to be quite a few weddings occuring. Normally wouldn't mind but every ceremony was held on the patio which prevented guests from using the pool. For a 4 Star hotel; the pool was very disappointing. Very small and univiting. Also the hotel charges $20.00 for parking. At these rates you think they would offer you a parking space.

They need to work on a few things.Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Location was great, the rooms are big and the bed is very comfortable.
Cons: A Lot. See comments.
I was not thrilled but ok about having to share a kind bed with my 20 year old daughter, as although I had requested two queens, they were not available. The front desk worker could have been nicer, though. Also, when I asked for change for a $20 bill so that I could tip the valet, another front desk worker tried four different places in the hotel to get change, but told me he was sorry, they didn't have $1s. Another day, the housekeeper forgot to clean our room although we saw her and her cart just outside our room when we left at 10 am. Another day, we ate breakfast the the hotel restaurant and both ordered the express breakfast (to be received in under 15 minutes). I ordered yogurt, fruit and granola and my daughter ordered a bagel and cream cheese. All they had to do was toast the bagel. Really?? It actually took 15 minutes and there was only one other occupied table in the place.

Comfortable room. Close to historic district.Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Comfortable bed and quiet. Clean room.
Cons: We only had one regular coffee but they gave me extra when I went to the front desk.
Location: We got to Savanna and ate at The Distillery. We had the BLT with fried green tomatoes and fries. The sandwich was on great bread.
We actually didn't spend a whole lot of time in the room as we took the trolly tour during the day and then the walking haunted house tour until late in the evening. I thought the hotel was the mansion and found out the restaurant was the mansion and the hotel was built later. We got the package that included breakfast and it was in a really nice restaurant with great staff. The breakfast was outstanding and my eggs were cooked to perfection. Our visit to Savannah exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend visiting if you haven't been there before.

Best Vacation I have ever hadPosted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Beautiful building inside and out, the art work, the room, Forsyth Park across the street, every single staff member, I guess EVERYTHING.
I have always wanted to go to Savannah and my boyfriend took me for my birthday. Our stay at the mansion was absolutely amazing. Savannah is the most beautiful place I have ever been and the Mansion is a true gem. Every staff member was so nice. After checking in, we got into the gorgeous elevator, that was a work of art in itself. Then we got to our room and it was EXQUISITE!!! We were invited in with beautiful music, a wonderful aroma, a lovely view, a comfortable King bed. I enjoyed coming back every day and having a bubble bath in the beautiful tub with a glass of wine. We had breakfast at 700 Drayton every morning after a run through beautiful Forsyth Park and it was absolutely delicous. We also ate there for dinner and again the staff and food were excellent. Yes it was extremely hot outside, but it is August in Geoergia, I think it is supposed to be and I love the heat; however, my boyfriend isn't so crazy about hot weather (he sleeps with the air during the winter in Michigan) and he said the air conditioning in our room was great. Savannah was more beautiful then I could have ever imagined and at the Mansion I truly felt like I was in a dream come true.

Not as good as it used to bePosted Jul 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
The person who checked us in, was not very friendly and did not tell us anything about the hotel, luckily I had stayed there before and I sort of remembered where the elevators were. Our room had a lovely view of the air conditioner units, yes I know we booked on hotels.com, but I think they would have saved that room until the very last person who showed up, and we were there one hour after check in. I remember the hotel being much nicer and more accommodating when I stayed 3 years ago. Three years ago they were working on the front doors and guess what they were working on them again, it was extremely awkward to have to walk in the side door. Would I stay again, no, I have stayed in better places in Savannah. Oh one thing I thought was good, valet was only $22.00.

Dear Kristen, Thank you for sharing your comments concerning your recent experience. Let me assure you that we don’t discriminate against our guests that book through hotels.com. We, at The Mansion on Forsyth Park, take pride in our ability to deliver a memorable guest experience, but clearly missed the mark in this instance. I hope you will give us the opportunity to serve you again in the future. Sincerely, Elisa Dickerson

Ideally situated overlooking Forsyth ParkPosted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Everything - staff, decor, accommodation, service, food, facilities etc.
Cons: Can't think of anything at this time.
Location: The History of Savvanah is there for all to see- the Houses and buildings as quite spectacular lots on information plaques and boards in every square
The Hotel staff were polite and very accommodating. The atsmosphere was relaxing and very pleasant with staff at all times acting in a porfessional manner and attentive to our needs and requests. The decor and standard was, somehwat suprisingly, exactly as pictured on the website and, in some repspects, better, so was not dissapointing in any way - it lived up to the hype and, in our opinion, was deserving of a much higher rating than the one shown. We were pleasantly suprised to find that the Hotel provided a free shuttle service which ran throughout the day and into early evening providing transportation from the Hotel to the main areas of shopping, Historical interest and River Street - the comfortable and air conditioned vehicle provided a welcome relief after long walks and hectic days spent in the hot Savvanah sun. The Hotel provided excellent value for money, the staff were hospitable and charming, the accommodation was maintained and presented at all times to a very high standard - we could not find fault so what more could you ask for. We will definitely return and have already recommended to friends and family. A big 'Thank You' to all staff at the Mansion on Forsyth Park - excellent venue, excellent holiday spent staying in a grand hotel presenting beautiful views , surroundings areas and great people.

Mixed ExperiencePosted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Comfortable beds Location Fitness center Most employees are friendly 700 Drake restaurant
Cons: Fan in fitness center Guest service phone answered at night Include water and internet in cost of room
Things we liked: Quieter location across from Forsyth Park and walking distance to riverfront area Beautiful exterior and we liked that there was art on display in the hotel Breakfast at 700 Drake was good and there were vegetarian options- employees friendly Jason the doorman super friendly and upbeat, most all other employees also were nice Comfortable beds and room decor was ok Fitness center Cold citrus and/or cucumber water with cookies - complimentary Doors close slowly so no slamming noises Things we did not like: Our deluxe room with double queen beds was supposed to have a park view but the view was on the roof and mechanical units and it was noisy. The hotel is expensive and yet there is no complimentary bottled water, internet, parking, bath salts, or robe use- There is a charge for all of the above listed. No large fan for cooling off in the fitness center No answer to guest service phone on the night of July 7th for over an hour so we gave up trying- we had no problem reaching guest services the night before. Our room on the third floor had an enclosed bathroom/tub/shower area however, there are weird wood shutters that open up to the room and don't stay shut, guess it's better than a curtain for noise and privacy.
