On the river, in the center of everything

Posted Feb 23, 2015
A great getaway for our anniversary. The weather was cold but still we had a fantastic week. The hotel was right in the heart of the historic district and on the river,we couldn't ask for more!

Great Inn! Perfect location within walking distance to all Savanah attractions. CHARMING historical building right on the river. Plus, the staff pampered us with turn down service, wine and cheese reception each evening, and ice cream delivered right to our door each night.

Noisy River Street

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: It was so close to all the fun and goings on of River Street.
Cons: I don't know how they could insulate these rooms from the noise from River Street but that would be a big improvement.
Location: River Street has it all! If you stay here, you have to have dinner out on River Street. Lots of great choices.
Such a charming hotel! We were really taken back by our room when we first stepped in. Beautifully done, very comfortable and roomy. And River Street was just a short walk away! We dined at the nearby Shrimp Factory and had a great time walking along all the great shoppes along the river and nearby Bay Street. Then we tried to sleep which was worst for us since we both retire early. It was like you could hear every bit of noise coming up from River Street. Bikers revving up their Harleys, partiers laughing and shouting, everything. If you are a late night person and love historic properties, this would be a great choice. I am a light sleeper so will probably go for the Hampton Inn on Bay Street so I can get a better night's sleep.

Old hotel in noisy location

Posted Feb 11, 2015
Pros: King bed was comfortable. Nice staff who did their best with the lack of adequate parking.
Cons: Need soundproofing. New sofa and carpet. Talk with business about getting muffler for cart.
Location: Close to everything. Can walk to many places. Hard to find parking upon arrival. Very noisy.
Room needs updating. Old furniture and dull colors. Definitely not worth the high cost. The worst part was the street noise plus constant creaking of ceiling from upstairs neighbor and street cleaning cart without muffler. Only quiet time was between 1 and 7 am.

Loved the location, but the neighbors were ....

Posted Feb 10, 2015
Pros: Location; condo-style layout; full breakfast
Cons: Probably needs updating, and when they do, should definitely add insulation between units.
Location: This is central to the tourist area of Savana
We loved the location of this facility - right on the water. It is also convenient in that it is really a condo - so two people who want separate rooms can share living space. The facility is fairly dated, but nicely kept up. The staff were OK, but I certainly wouldn't say they were welcoming. Our problem was the next door neighbors - I guess there isn't any insulation between units and they had a 2 year old who cried all the time - starting at 6:20 AM.

this place was amazing! Rooms were extremely large - beds were very comfortable and the little touches like Klondike bars left in your refrigerator at night were perfect. They also have an amazing wine and cheese night every night and it was wonderful meeting so many different people. The staff were awesome and very attentive. Location was great right on the river close to good restaurants and bars. It's an easy walk to all the historic charm Savannah has to offer. Enjoy your stay there
