a disappointment

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: it was convenient.
Cons: raise the beds/new beds
arrived around 4PM to check in and had to wait at least one half hour to check in, then carried our bags quite a distance to our room which looked over the river. it had a great view but the beds were quite low to the ground, a connecting door to the next room allowed us to hear their conversation and the decor, etc. just felt dowdy. i was not unhappy with the smallness of the room, as i live in a very old house and can appreciate old charm, but i had hoped for more from this historic hotel - especially considering the cost of the room.

Renovated historic hotel

Posted Mar 20, 2015
Pros: location, historic nature, clean and upscale rooms
Location: plenty of places to eat, drink and sightsee
I stayed in a suite and the rooms were fantastic. It was a very enjoyable stay and the accommodations, service and location could not be beat.

Beautiful Riverfront views & close to everything

Posted Mar 18, 2015
You have to love old architecture and be interested in the Riverfront area historically to really appreciate this location. Knowing that, it's an amazing hotel. For the rest of you, you do have to park a block away for $15 a night - but even though the lot said full, it wasn't for hotel guests. Also, I come from New Orleans, so I understand a historic hotel issues having lived in old buildings, so appreciate the charm because it's not a new shoebox style off the highway location. There are plenty of those elsewhere if that's your thing. Overall, was amazing. I was upgraded to a riverfront view being a Gold+ Expedia member. Such a nice perk!

Convenient location...near everything.

Pros: Closeness to everything.
Hotel clean. Walking distance to many fine restaurants and attractions. Beautiful city to walk around and this hotel is a convenient starting point. Staff moderately friendly.

gross

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Cons: everything
Location: you are close to everything
We pulled back the top sheet to discover two very large stains. the lights did not work. There was no valet. the beds were very hard and linens rough and dirty. Bathroom shower made so much noise it was horrible. I paid almost $400 dollars a night for that...ugh. The front desk did reduce the first night by half though. The location was very good as well.

Great place to stay..but..

Posted Mar 12, 2015
Pros: Location is great
Cons: PILLOWS NEED TO BE REPLACED
We have traveled a lot and this one is great EXCEPT pillows that we would not use in our `rental fishing cabins. Come on,if you can afford to be in business, you can provide decent pillows!

We had a fantastic weekend!

Posted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: I love the atmosphere and comfort. The staff were excellent!!
Cons: The lamps in our room were excellent for atmosphere but not for reading. That was the only "flaw" with our stay.
Location: The Riverwalk, the kiosk for tickets to the tours, the great restaurants, a sweets festival with lots of goodies plus music, the ferry. All wonderful.
We had a beautiful room with view of city, not of river. That was as lovely to me as the river view. The main desk staff were totally accomodating and all the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The location could not be better. The city had wonderful fun right outside the door, but there was no noise from the street.

Very pleasant experience. Pleased to discover that the hotel had arranged parking.
