WAY over priced

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Location, it was close to all the attractions
Cons: It would have been nice to have a fridge, microwave, free parking and wifi
Location: Lots of shopping and good food!
We checked in very last minute so I did not get a chance to check the amenities that this hotel had to offer or I would have NEVER STAYED THERE. First we paid $300 for one night. This did not include parking, wifi (in our room) or free breakfast of any kind. Parking was $20 a day, wifi ranged from $12-15. The room had no fridge or microwave. When we walked in to our room it reeked of paint fumes. It was awful. There was nothing spectacular about our room. The frame on the mirror in the bathroom was falling apart. I was just really disappointed in what they did not include in the EXPENSIVE NIGHTLY RATE. Had I looked first I would have stayed in a cheaper hotel and took a taxi where I wanted to go. It would have been cheaper that way. I was just shocked that hotels that were much cheaper had so much more to offer than this "nicer" hotel. I will stay at the Hyatt next time.

Thank you for choosing Savannah and the Marriott Savannah Riverfront, as your travel destination. I am sorry you were not aware of the parking charge or the internet fee when booking your room. We do offer complimentary internet in our lobby, available to all of our guests twenty-four hours a day. Also, we do have refrigerators at no charge; our front desk will deliver them upon request. I also apologize for the smell of fresh paint in your room and the condition of the bathroom mirror. Our Chief Engineer is aware of your experience and can now take corrective action. Thank you for sharing your observations with us. Again, thank you for choosing Marriott. Best regards,

Great hotel on the river

Very clean and newly updated room. A little pricey. Should cost a little less since it's at the end of the river walk but it's still a great hotel.

Nice place a short walk from River Street.

Hotel was very nice, and just down the river from all the shops and restaurants on River Street. Only down side is there's a $19 parking fee.

Furthest hotel from everything. Thought would be nicer for the price. Wasn't bad though

The only semi-negative part of my stay was really the staff member that checked me in. Not welcoming, approachable or warm whatsoever. ANYWAY, the hotel itself is fine. The room was very clean & the bedding was comfy - both top priorities if I'm looking for a value rate. The walk into the heart of town (the squares, City Market & other cafes) was about 15minutes. Not bad at all.

Walking Distance to River Street - I'd Stay again

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: Location and Staff
Cons: Some bathrooms needs renovation -
Location: River walk - from there you can find local commute and trolleys.
Great location. Walking distance to River street. Great views if you get the room with river view. Staff was courteous. Had minor issue in room but Mohammed was there in no time and very friendly. Hotel staff overall took care of the issue. Also Breakfast buffet at Blu Restaurant on site was a great start to the day! I'd Stay at this location again.

hold on tight

This hotel is about as cool as talking on a land line in a cell phone era. This place reminds me of a 1980 throw back Las Vegas side strip place. The decor is about as impressive as Pee Wee Herman comedy routine. I paid $370.00 for our room and the place normally is 129.00. I did book for Valentine's day, but really 370.00 to look at a parking lot? They do have some river facing rooms. The hotel staff is nice and the room was adequately clean. The walls are paper thin and we could hear snoring from next door and from underneath. The snoring sounded like it was in stereo. I would honestly not stay here again and felt like I was let down based in the price. The hotel said that my buffet was not complimentary because I booked through Expedia. Also people were checking in next to us at a substantial discount.
