Not impressed.

The good..Very nice staff, convenient location. The bad..Electrical outlets would not hold cords, drinks in the machines were empty. The ugly.. down comforter was in need of replacement! Gross! The prices have to be based on the location, because this marriott has not been renovated in a long time.

Pros: Indoor and outdoor pool. Room service was fast and good!
Cons: Bathroom update with curtain and tile
Location: Everything Savannah is within walking distance!
The hotel is dated. The bathroom had dirt on the floor and mold in the shower and on the shower curtain. The staff is super friendly!! The rooms are great size. The ice machine though was on the other side of the floor!

Hotel staff are extremely polite and helpful. Room was large, nicely furnished, and immaculate. Overall, a top class place. Located directly on Savannah River and at end of riverwalk, a very short walking distance to riverwalk restaurants and shops. The only negative was that we called room service at approximately 10 pm for 2 simple dinner entrees. Estimated time was 60 to 90 minutes. No thank you. Ended up walking to pick up 2 great dinner entrees "to go" at a local riverwalk restaurant. Called ahead: 15 to 20 minutes.

Walkable distance from downtown

Cons: Make the hot tub functional again! All I wanted to do was relax and have a beer!
It was nice and convenient to downtown via a short walk, although it is on the fringes and not really next to anything. If you don't want to pay $19 for parking, you can park at any metered space downtown on the weekends for free, or you can get a Savannah parking pass at the Visitor's center and pay $7 a day to park in any metered space or the city garages. Personally that seems like a better deal to me even though you'll have to walk a bit to get your car.

Cold water!

We drove 8.5 hours to get to this particular hotel. When we arrive the woman out front was very nice and directed us to the parking garage. We get to the front desk to check in and the man tells us that the hot water takes a minute so just let it run. Not a big deal, we are not the complaining type and took it with a grain of salt. We ran the "hot" water for 10 minutes(and I mean all the way on with absolutely no cold turned on) and it was the coldest shower I have ever taken in my life besides a pull string shower at a campground. The toilet was covered in dust, the lighting was awful and our river view was obstructed by patio chairs and trees. Oh, and at 7 in the morning they decided to get the banquet chairs out of the closet right outside of our room. Basically if you book this hotel do not, absolutely do not stay in room 132. The worst hotel experience I have ever had for the ridiculous price of the cold water and dirty bathroom and $20 for parking. The manager also said that she couldn't do anything except offer free breakfast because we booked through a different sight, and they also called at 6 in the morning to tell us they were moving our room but check out was in a few hours. My question was why couldn't they just move us the night before and all the problems would have been solved. I hope you look for a hilton down the street, or maybe a motel 6 would have been nicer than this...

Ok hotel but disappointing

There were a lot of unexpected fees. The room rate was already pretty high so we didn't expect to have to pay for parking, wifi, and breakfast. Refrigerators are taken out of the rooms and are only available upon request. There weren't nearly enough luggage racks either. We did enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools. The receptionists were very nice. We had a wonderful view of the river that we really enjoyed.

Disappointing

Cons: Review actual star rating of this hotel.
Location: Nice walk to the river front area
It did not have the feeling of being in a hotel. Indoor pool was supposed to be heated, but it was freezing.

I am a Marriott Rewards customer that is why I chose to stay at this hotel. Overall, it was a good experience. I did have issue with my river view room windows-there was condensation so the view was not great. Michael and Linda at the concierge desk were both extrememly helpful and help make our stay a great Savannah experience!
