Don't get stuck with a room in the basementPosted Oct 18, 2013
We were disappointed to be put in a room below the main house. The entrance was on the ground floor street entrance. Although the room was clean & fairly comfortable, it did not have the ambience of a B&B. Breakfast in the main house dining room was good.

Loved the GastonianPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: The food and the staff.
Cons: We were on the ground floor with an outside entrance. I would have preferred a room in the house.
Location: We took the Ghost Tour and loved it. It's near Forsyth Park which is a great place to walk.
The food is amazing. The chef was wonderful, and the grits were the best I've ever had. (Don't tell my Mama I said that.) The staff was helpful and friendly.

Nice roomPosted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: location and solitude
Cons: staff were a little loud unknown if it was due to the material the walls were made out of or if they were actually that loud but it was distraction
Location: walkable distance to resturants and sites to see.
checking in- simple and quick, manager gave the break down of the area we where staying at and even reccommended locations to eat/ see stay- very roomy, came with fire place, flat screen tv, turn down service, and a tub in the actual living space (weird but cool) checking out- quick and easy, offered us an opportunity to stay another night (for a fee of course),

A little out of the way is a good thingPosted Aug 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay and felt as if we had a taste of the old Savannah. As is often the case, being away from the "action" was a good thing, as there is easy access to everything, and we liked the distance from the hustle and bustle. It also gave us an excuse to use the pedicabs. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts, teas and desserts( all delicious) gave us a chance ( if you so desired ) to interact with people from around the country. A very satisfying stay.

Get what you pay forPosted Jun 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
When we arrived it seemed like we were a bother. We had paid for a upgraded queen room but unknown to us until we checked we got the regular queen. When asked they did not deny it (you would think they would mention this at check in). But said you are not guaranteed to get the room you book... Unbelievable. Wont be back that is for sure. Kitchen staff was awesome though.

OFF THE BEATEN PATHPosted Jun 18, 2013
Pros: We loved the wine hour and the dessert hour, time to exchange ideas about adventures and explorations. Breakfast was splendid, great way to start.
Cons: More Chocolate at dessert time. (smile)
Location: Loved walking Bull street and the entire historic neighborhood, shops and Public restaurant, CVS , Goodwill, Bookstore, all places we spent time.
We found wonderful off the beaten path informatijon from ALL the staff and we delighted in the hidden corners of Savannah not on the MUST DO list. Truly a wonderful group of people , helpful, attentive and full of ideas, for someone looking for a Savannah experience not in the guide book.

We enjoyed our stay at this adorable inn. We stayed in the carriage house, which abounded with character. Additionally, the staff was friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be returning to The Gastonian when visiting Savannah in the future!
