Historic Venue & Easy Access to Downtown SavannahPosted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: The 19th century character of the property. Breakfast is included in the room price and was quite good. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Given this is an historic property with a prime location, there is not much to recommend for improvements.
Location: Located on E. Broughton Street in downtown Savannah, a plethora of restaurants, shopping and entertainment are close by.
The Marshall House is located in the heart of downtown Savannah, with easy access to the historic district and riverfront area. The hotel maintains a good deal of its historic character with sufficient modernization to make it acceptable for most travelers who might be interested in staying in something other than cookie-cutter corporate hotels. The room we occupied was not overly spacious, but was clean and functional. The bathroom was separated from the sleeping area by a short interior hallway. Floors were the original wood and were somewhat slippery. The single elevator in the hotel is small, and the stairs are steep. But, the property is quite clean, and has wi fi, refrigerators in the rooms, flat screen TVs, etc. There is no free parking within a reasonable distance, and valet parking runs about $20 per night. Since Savannah is a highly walkable city, parking was not an issue for us, but for someone who is chained to their vehicle might find the parking situation in Savannah a hassle. Wine and cheese reception Monday through Thursday nights is a good opportunity to socialize with other guests. I would not classify this as a business-centric hotel. It is better-suited to vacationers, couples, and anyone who is interested in enjoying the ambiance of the historic Savannah. I would rate it as a good alternative to a bed and breakfast, although perhaps a little more impersonal. Not a cheap venue, but the location justifies paying a little more.

Historic Hotel in Fantastic LocationPosted May 26, 2015
My husband and I stayed at The Marshall House for a weekend getaway to Savannah and had a lovely time. The hotel is very old and historic, but very charming! Our bathroom could have been a tad cleaner, but overall the room was great. The best part about this hotel for us was the location. We walked everywhere!

Very nice hotel close to everythingPosted May 26, 2015
We have stayed in old hotels before, with mixed experiences. We loved evrything about our experience at the Marshall House. The room was comfortable, the wine and cheese reception was pleasant, and the breakfast was the best I can remember at a hotel. We parked our car and did not need it except when we went to Tybee Island. Savannah is a beautiful city and I would highly recommend the Marshall House.

Great HotelPosted May 20, 2015
Pros: Charming old building nicely restored, good breakfast, interesting gathering of guests over wine and cheese in the evenings, and attentive staff.
Location: Location is great. We were in walking distance of everything we wanted to do from interesting tours to fine dining. Savannah was beautiful.
Located in the heart of the historic district, Marshall House is located within walking distance of everything we visited Savannah to see. We only used our car one day to visit Tybee Island.

Olde character hotel in the heart of SavannahPosted May 16, 2015
Pros: Loved the display on each floors of the finding while renovating. I thought it was a nice touch and bring treasure of the hotel thru out the years.
It was a pleasure experienced. Coming in to check in, staff was friendly, very helpful if need any other assistance. Was able to settle into our room with a big wow on the decor. Beautiful and powerful. I forgotten how most older hotels tend to have higher ceiling. My best excitement was long warble hallway. I knew and didn't expected a perfect straight hallways but for some reason it got me feeling awe and historical. I love characters that bring out the past.

Historic Hotel - good valuePosted May 5, 2015
Pros: Pleasant staff.
Cons: Privacy blinds in bathroom should be replaced to insure privacy.
Hotel was clean and comfortable with modern amenities such as free wireless internet, widescreen television and and a small safe. But, understand it is an old structure with hisotric "character". The hotel was walking distance to all the downtown Savannah attractions.
