AWESOME resort !!! Traveled to this resort with my 14 year old daughter for a February school vacation retreat for some rest, relaxation, and some mother and daughter bonding. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful resort. Every staff member we came in contact with during our 4 day stay was friendly, nice, and very helpful. Fitness facility and spa are located at the entrance to the golf course, which is within walking distance. Hotel provides shuttle service to and from fitness facility, spa, golf course. Spa was absolutely beautiful, well maintained, and services were exceptional although expensive. Concierge was very nice, and very helpful in planning tours of Historic Savannah, reservations, etc. We ate breakfast every morning in The Aqua Star restaurant in the hotel, the service and food were wonderful. Hotel also provided shuttle service from hotel to tour bus location accross the river. Free ferry service from hotel location on Hutchinson Island accross river to Historic Savannah. Hotel offers free parking, as well as valet parking for a fee. We would definitely recommend this resort.

Great hotel! Location was ideal and the grounds were beautiful. Bed was very comfortable. *Only tip I can share is I wish the hotel staff had explained the amenities of the hotel.

“Great for everyone: families, couples, etc”

Savannah has free shuttles (including ferries to and from Hutchinson Island where this hotel is located) that make it really easy to get around. The hotel is located right next to a ferry stop making is super convenient. This hotel also looked much nicer than the ones on River St. The staff is very nice and the hotel is very ritzy looking. We only stayed one day but I imagine that it would be great for a longer stay!

“Great family hotel”

This is the only hotel on the island. Great view, great way for a family to enjoy Savannah. We'll be back.

“It Is Christmas Everyday when you stya at the West”

Excellent as always. The river view is the best. This trip we saw dolphins swimming downstream. The ferry gentlemen are so nice. Food in the bar was outstanding and so was the bar service. Great people. Great place and this is my favorite spot to stay because it is so nice. The bed was super comfortable and I slept so well which is not typical of me.

I stayed here on St. Patricks Day weekend 2012. Awesome hotel. It's a bit expensive but definitely worth the cost for the convenience. They had a ferry that ran from the hotel to downtown every 20 minutes until midnight. Which was great. I was kind of bummed that it ended at midnight at first. But the first night I snuck back on the last ferry back to the hotel at 11:50 and was so thankful that I got it. After 6 hours of St. Patricks Day wildness in downtown Savannah, midnight was a perfect ending time. I don't know if I could have survived 3 more hours downtown. Great service, great staff, extremely helpful the entire time. Made my weekend.
