Cons: THE ONE EASY CHAIR IN THE ROOM - INCREDIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE
Location: EXCELLENT
The "easy" chair in the room [only 1] was, without a doubt, the most UNCOMFORTABLE chair I have ever sat in in my 70 1/2 years of existence. I am about 6'3" or so and the back of the chair was about 12 inches high. Even for a shorter person, it has to be incredibly uncomfortable. It was the only chair to sit in designed for relaxation. No relaxation here! This was totally out of sync with the rest of the hotel.

Excellent value, across river from historic SAV
Posted Jan 20, 2013
Pros: Water taxi departs every 15 minutes for historic Savannah, just across the river.
Cons: Front desk seems understaffed - always long lines of people (in fact, desk was unmanned twice when I was there after 2330).
Location: Tons of restaurants and other attractions, just across the river.
I wanted a modern, business-oriented hotel, with proximity to downtown Savannah. This worked very well. The front desk is understaffed, but otherwise all went very well.

A hotel with a view
Posted Jan 11, 2013
Pros: We enjoyed the elegance of the hotel, the ferry ride to Savannah and the views. The hotel has a wonderful golf course and club house.
Cons: Put an exercise room in the actual hotel. It is just odd to have to take a shuttle to the clubhouse to workout.
Location: Just take the ferry to walk all of that district quite easily and enjoy a trolley tour for more. Dinner in the Olde Pink House is a must.
Although you have to cross a very steep bridge to stay there, our stay at the Savannah Westin was wonderful. The facility is outstanding and the rooms are upscale comfort. The facility sits across from Savannah and riding the ferry is convenient and easy for walkable downtown venues. The view of Savannah from the hotel is amazing, especially at night

Savannah vacation
Posted Jan 7, 2013
Pros: Position Golf Pool area
Cons: Extremely poor room service
Location: Excellent base for exploring Savannah and for golf
A pleasant stay. However, major issue with room being cleaned. We had to request this late in the day on every occasion which is simply very poor service for a quality hotel such as this and this was both irritating and disappointing. On a positive note, both front desk staff Aaron and Chelsey were very helpful when we rechecked in for 2 more nights.

Great for entire family

We stayed at the Westin recently after traveling for hours in the car. The Westin is in a class by itself sitting across from River Street, it was everything we hoped for. Huge lobby, the people were so nice. Eventhough we just arrived we put our bags in the room and headed for the ferry boat to take us across the river to get us dinner. We had a feast at the River House and enjoyed a few candy stores along the way, We returned to the Westin for a great night of rest. The next morning we played ping pong in the game room, loved the swimming pool, especially swimming next to sailboats and watching cargo ships going by. It truly is a beautiful resort with great landscaping.

Pet Lovers Beware
Posted Jan 8, 2013
Pros: The view...
Cons: Noise, pet policy, poor room service
Location: You must drive to Savannah (which is crazy since parking is terrible) or ride the ferry. I would suggest riding the ferry.
Pet Lovers: This hotel claims to be a top pet-friendly hotel - not so! They charge 100.00 per stay and do not allow you to leave your pet in your room under any circumstances (I always bring a travel kennel to put my pet in, but that wasn't acceptable either). Now, I love my pet, but I do not take them to dinner every time I go, etc. Also, none of the hotel amenity areas are pet-friendly and are posted as strictly prohibited. So, I suppose they want you to pay more than any other guest but enjoy nothing in their hotel while you're there? The patch, and I do mean patch, of grass that is for pet-walking is TINY. Although many Savannah areas are pet-friendly, this hotel felt far from it. Everyone Else: Also, in the main lobby area, the staff's door don't "catch", so, the entire time we sat there in the mornings, we heard SLAM after SLAM as they were in and out. The staff seemed overwhelmed and although tried to be friendly, it was easy to tell how stressed they all were. They will not allow you to use their luggage cart; they only allow staff to use them, which is a bit over the top since all staff was too busy to assist, but one found time to come over and tell us that. The weddings (everyday we were there) take up much guest's shared space and are very loud. Room service took literally 2 hours both times we chose it. In short, we absolutely wouldn't return...

Not what I expected
Posted Jan 28, 2013
Pros: Simon the valet
Cons: Too numerous to mention
Location: adequate
Had I known the hotel was in the midst of renovatIon I would not have made a reservation. Main hotel restaurant was closed and the noise was very apparent from what appeared to be jackhammering. On the 9th floor there was no less than at least 6 dogs in various rooms and a number of children running the floors. Had I known this was a dog friendly hotel would not have stayed. Upon checkin the person doing so appeared to be a trainee. I asked for an upgrade to a suite and was told there was non available as our room which was a river front room was "tiny" .. one chair. There are many hotels in the Savannah area and will not stay at this one in the future .. The one bright spot was Simon the valet. He had oiur car waiting on us and always had a smile and nice things to say. Save your money and book somewhere else !!!!
