Bring ear plugs for the barking dogs

Posted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: The condo unit itself was much nicer than expected, but the description said there was a pull out couch - there isn't one.
Cons: Update the description and remove the line about the sofa bed. Set rules that does not allow for barking dogs regardless of tenant.
This is a rental condo with the 'hotel' staff managing condo rentals for the majority of the units, with a few 'owner' condos, too. The unit next to us was an 'owner' condo with a large, nasty barking dog. We complained with the front desk 3 days in a row that the dog was barking any time someone walked past the unit - we had a small child we were trying to put to bed with the constant barking. The staff did nothing to address the barking dog issue.

One Bedroom Condo

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Someone forgot to clean out the garbage disposal that was filled with stinky fish, so it was very smelly when we first arrived.
Location: Great beaches and close to the heart of Savannah
Vary spacious and great view. All accommodations that were needed.

Great location, great island. Furniture in the condo was run down, but it did not stop the fun times.

Tybee treat!

Awesome room in great condition, beautiful tile work, big bathroom and shower! TV's were substandard with few channels. Great view and pool! No maid service and we were asked to take our own garbage out at the end of our stay.

Pool was warm. Layout was strange. Furniture was grimy. Internet was hard to use. Restaurant and bar were closed on monday and tuesday. Expensive cleaning fee. No towels were available for a beach club. Staff unseen. Name not visible from street. Weather was wonderful.

This was a great stay! The lady at the front desk was very knowledgeable about the festivities going on that weekend. She was very friendly! The condo was even better than we thought. Nice size and very clean!

Very Disappointing

Posted Jan 6, 2014 on Hotels.com
The beds were dirty. They charged us a fee before we left even though there was no extra fees listed on Hotels.com or their website. The front desk is closed most of the time. Location is not all that great at all.

Where Is the "Tybee Beach Resort Club" Expedia Has a Listing For?

Posted Oct 13, 2013
Pros: The beachfront view
Cons: No sheets, blanket, or pillowcases for sofa bed. No washcloths.
Location: The location was good, but Expedia had the wrong hotel listing on their website. Had to take extra time trying to locate hotel.
I had made a one-night reservation for one of the hotel accommodations on Expedia's listing for a one-night stay at the TYBEE BEACH RESORT CLUB, TYBEE ISLAND for October 9, 2013. When I arrived on Tybee Island with my 81 year old "frail" mother-in-law and four other family members, we discovered there was not a TYBEE BEACH RESORT CLUB (as listed on your website) on the island after riding up and down the island several times trying to find it and also making an inquiry with a local business. Fortunately, I remembered I had a printed copy of my booking confirmation and there was a telephone number listed, which turned out to be the hotel. YOU HAD THE WRONG HOTEL NAME LISTED!!!! The hotel was called the BEACHSIDE COLONY not TYBEE BEACH RESORT CLUB. Also, the price without tax Expedia quoted was forty percent less for one-night than the actual price at check-in when the desk clerk said I owed over one-hundred more dollars for a one-night stay plus tax. When I showed her Expedia's printed confirmation and told her about wanting to give my mother-in-law a special trip to the ocean, compassionately she reduced the amount with tax. I WILL NO LONGER USE EXPEDIA TO BOOK MY TRIPS OR RECOMMEND EXPEDIA TO FRIENDS & FAMILY. YOUR SERVICE WAS VERY INACCURATE, UNDEPENDABLE, AND UNRELIABLE.

Great location, but run-down & poorly managed

Posted Aug 22, 2013
Pros: Close proximity to the ocean was handy, and great ocean view from condo.
Cons: so many things - see above
Location: Great stretch of public beach. Bike rentals. Lots of local restaurants, all pretty casual - nothing fancy. Fishing tours. Dolphin-spotting tours
There were many problems with our stay at this resort. The woman managing the check-in process was extremely unprofessional (seemed frazzled and confused), and the front office reminded me of that of a cheap beachside motel. The building in general was not well maintained (ie. elevator dirty and very smelly, resort needed a fresh coat of paint everywhere). The woman at the check-in desk said she was new and was unable to answer key questions about the room rate, etc. When I came back later to express my concern about lack of cleanliness (crusted food on cutlery and dishes, hair and scum around drain in shower, food bits on kitchen floor, old flowers stuck up in a cupboard, etc), and broken appliances (phone not working, TV cable and DVD player in main room not working) and question the room rate (booked a single room and got a double room, overall cost was higher than what was quoted at time of booking), she was unsympathetic and unhelpful. She promised she would have the "manager"(who may or may not exist) call me the next morning on my cell phone. I never received a call. I would have pursued things more aggressively, but we were only there 3 nights and I didn't want to waste all my time at the front office feeling frustrated, when they clearly don't have a policy about customer satisfaction. I very much got the feeling it is luck of the draw as to the condition of the condo you are placed in. Also, our room didn't have wifi, though my sister's room did.
