Wingate by Wyndham - Savannah Ga off I95

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: can't think of anything at this moment
Cons: Hire new help and start renovating
Location: Applebee's , McDonald, Ruby Tuesdays and Cracker Barrel
This hotel is run down and poor management, Beware. First off, they had signs hang though out hotel stating renovating. However, these signs looked just as dirty & dusty as the hotel hallways did. Second, the Jacuzzi was not usable and dirt. Finally, we need to check out at 7 am and was unable to get breakfast because it was opened 1 hour later then state in there hand book, All because manager and the employee handing the breakfast were talking about other employees.

Beds were very small, not even Queen size. And I booked room for 5 people, uhhh where is the extra bed? It was an overstuffed chair! I also booked my parents room who needs a handicap room, they didn't get that either! Asked breakfast staff for tea bags, they walked away and didn't answer. When asked another staff it was rudely told "no" and they walked off. They were busy talking with their friends who came in. Won't stay here again. And room smelled like cigerette smoke.

Good for a one nighter!

Everything was good except there was no hot water in the morning. For a hotel I expect hot water when I need it. Other than that it was a good stay.

hot water

The hotel was fine except the shower water only came in one temp: burning hot. I let the front desk know so hopefully this problem has been corrected

We are pleased that your overall stay was a pleasant one but do want to apologize that you had difficulty regulating the water temperature. We immediately had our maintenance department look into and resolve the issue so that your next visit with us will be outstanding.

We apologize that you feel your items were not returned in an expeditious manner. Our property has a lost and found process that begins with found items being recorded into the lost and found log, contacting the guest or, in some cases, waiting for the item to be claimed, we then verify the item and guest information and call a local shipping company. The shipping company picks the item up from the hotel then calls the guest to complete the process. Our process works smoothly but we may experience slight delays between steps. We always do our best to handle the items left behind carefully and to speedily return them to their owners.

Great Place to Stay on Your Way to South Florida

Posted Jan 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
My family and I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. The location is a perfect stopover on our trips from Washington, D.C. to South Florida. The breakfast is very nice but I would like to see an alternative included for persons who do not consume pork.

Patel owned stay away

Posted Jan 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
The locks wouldn't work so my wife and I constantly had to have someone from the front desk open the room whenever we left. The hotel charged me $70 for two nights for having our cat stay with us ( even though hotels.com listed them as pet friendly). The managers response to the charges was that we were lucky he was allowing our pet to stay at the hotel ( even though the whole first floor tenants had cats or dogs staying with them). The hot tub did not work and was broken for our trip which was extremely disappointing. The last major disappointment was with the breakfast. The ad on this site stated that they offered a hot breakfast yet the only thing hot were waffles. When I asked the manager about not having any breakfast proteins he stated that they had sausage gravy ( on what planet is that a true protein). I had stayed at a wingate in Atlanta and was very impressed with every aspect. Everything was great there especially the breakfast ( hot sausage and bacon as well as sausage gravy and potatoes). It was due to my experience in Atlanta that I chose to stay at a Wingate again. I informed the manager about the listed disappointments on my stay and his response to me was not to come back there again. When I asked for the corporate number to complain he told me that the hotel was independently owned and not corporate and there was nothing I could do. So as a first time ever response on this site I would recommend to stay away from this place. My wife and I really wished we would have followed the ratings for this area and stayed at the country inn.

My stay overall was ok, the room smelled like smoke upon arrival. The location was good I don't think I would stay here again, but my stay was in ok for my 3 days in town. My daughter enjoyed it more than me so that's one reason why I stayed verses changing hotels.
