“A great budget option”

A great apartment in a convenient location for visiting both the Three Valleys ski area (connected by gondola to Brides with a free shuttle bus) and the Paradiski area from nearby Champagny. Lovely large apartments part of the former Olympic Village for the Albertville olympics. Check-in is at Agence Olympic near the Casino in Brides, not at the apartments themseleves. Great value with free underground parking included.

“This isn't a hotel”

This is budget accommodation and not to be confused with the other aprtments in the complex which are next door and look much smarter - Residence Cybele - Lagrange Confort - Brides-les-Bains. We arrived at around 20:30 and there was no indication of where to check in. Fortunately we had the booking with a phone number on which was answered and we were told to wait and ten minutes later a chap turned up with a key. Asked if we wanted sheets and towels and then rustled up the sheets but could only manage a couple of towels. More would be coming on Monday but we never saw anyone again. The aprtmant we had contained kitchen units that had seen better days, ad hoc furniture, old well worn blankets, loose electrical fittings, broken towel rail, extractor fan that was taped up and generally the block was tatty and in need of some tlc. We were not given the code for access to the pool but managed to obtain this from reception at the smart apartments next door which are part of the same complex. Having said this the apartment did the job - somewhere to put your head down when not skiing and the kids thought it was good. Shower was great and loads of hot water and the apartment itself was warm. In short basic, tatty, but did the job. Don't go with high expectations and you won't be disappointed. Having said that we might do it again next year. This is not a hotel - it is just an apartment in a block that you are renting for a few days.
