Nice location and views, poor facilities.

Beautifully located on the edge of the mediteranean. We stayed here after a very hot day and chose this place because it listed Air Conditioning. A/C unit was a small portable unit that did not stay on and made it for an unbearable night. Expedia listed breakfast included, but the owner said we had to pay for it.

poor condition and maintenance of hotel

Posted Nov 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
Most amenities stated in the hotel room ad were not available - no detectable wi-fi in hotel or in room; no wired internet either. Our original assigned room was not cleaned: floors were not cleaned in awhile, not even swept. Quilt on bed looked very old and used, the kind you would likely only use outside for a picnic. Upon request, we were moved to a new room, although the facial expressions on the hotel staff were of confusion or disbelief. This room was not very well-maintained but it was an improvement from "horrible". Again, the quilt was unfortunately old and used. At least the bed sheets were clean, though. The shower and bathroom had obvious brown and orange mold growth (we wore sandles in the shower and bathroom!). Only decent aspect was the sea view and mini french balcony (although dirty). We only made it one night here after purchasing cleaning supplies and our own pillows. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone and would never stay there again.

Old family-owned hotel at good location

Posted Oct 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is a bit old, but location is very nice, atop a promontory overlooking the Mediterranean. It is easily accessible from the motorway and is located in a quiet, scenic area. Parking is free and ample. The restaurant serves pretty good seafood dishes.

Use for a stopover only

Posted Jun 19, 2012 on Hotels.com
Disappointing stay but luckily this was only a stopover - I would have been unhappy to stay more than one night. The hotel was noisy due to main road outside and no soundproofing. Rooms in need of renovation. Staff not particularly approchable or friendly. I would only recommend staying here if you get a cheap rate and are not expecting much other than a clean bed for the night.

Not again!

Posted Jan 5, 2011
Well - being in Europe is an adventure in of itself. This hotel is bare minimum...bed & bathroom. The corner shower was tiny & my 6'3" husband could not use it (he's only 210 lbs too - so he's not obese). We had to tell the front desk to turn the heat up as it was so cold that my nose was frozen inside the room. It is also located a 50 euro taxi ride from the Savona train station, so the money I thought I was saving was spent on the taxi. I will chalk this one up to "you live & you learn".
